Ellianos Coffee — Restaurant in Vidalia

If you drink black coffee this review ain’t for you, but if you like sweet drinks, then read on. I can’t comment on their black coffee.

So I’ll start by saying that Elliano‘s used to be really good back when the only two locations were in Valdosta. Their menu has changed drastically since then and honestly, I’ve had several drinks from them now and I am not impressed at all. On top of that, they charge $.60 per pump of syrup and that is just ridiculous to me. I’m sure mathematically it works out for them, but for someone who likes to add lots of syrup to my coffee I just can’t reasonably spend $11 on a drink when I can go down to Starbucks and get a similar drink for five bucks that is three times bigger. 

Now I know some of y’all are gonna come at me for this one, but I just don’t like it. The variety of drinks are just so few and they literally have one to two ingredients in them. In contrast, if you go to Seven Brew (which I know its in Macon), they have four or five special drinks that have tons of different types of flavors and consistencies. But even their signature drinks here seem to be pretty bland for the most part.

Now I may give it a second chance but only if I have to. Starbucks is closed in Vidalia today so it is what it is. But I felt like I was being robbed paying $7.54 for what I got. To me that’s...

I usually visit at least 4 to 5 days a week, I have noticed the staff tries to be friendly under pressure. They try their best to be as quick as possible, but they are lacking the guidance to know what to do when they are busy. My suggestion would be to have 3 lines instead of 2. One for purchases, one for pickup of purchase and one for mobile orders that should be ready upon arrival. It's definitely not fair for us that order and already paid for our items to have to sit in a line of people that have to order at window, then fumble for payment. In the meantime, mobile orders are waiting and getting cold along with drinks getting watered down. On numerous occasions I have ordered a croissant, but opening the wrapper to find a sandwich that's too hard to eat or not getting what I paid for is unacceptable and being at work doesn't allow me to take it back. In my opinion Ellianos has way better coffee than Starbucks. And you can't beat their breakfast bowls: creamy grits with eggs, cheese, and sausage (bacon or ham options available). My kids really liked the strawberry smoothies as well. This is now my go to place if I order out and for coffee. Also the staff was great. I'll be back. Highly recommended.

UPDATE The last couple of times I've ordered the breakfast bowls they were over-salted to the point where the food was inedible. Hopefully they'll start taking it easy with the salt shaker. Still great coffee though 🤷🏻‍♂️
