Big Buns has a curse word in the name and, honestly, coming here, I was a little worried that I might let a little expletive slip from my lips as the best burger in Northern Virginia passed through them. My kids certainly didn't need to experience that, but fortunately for them, Big Buns doesn't exactly live up to their name. We went in having honestly never heard of the place before. I saw it on the map, knew my wife is passionate about hamburgers and decided to take a leap of faith. With a name as bold and daring as Big Buns D#*! Good Burgers, I really assumed we couldn't go wrong. We stepped inside the building and were immediately met with nothing...like no one. The place was empty except for a lone man sitting in a booth waiting for his food to come. No one was behind the counter, so we loped our way over to the self-service screen and took care of our business there. The first thing we noticed was the prices. Now, we live in Northern Virginia and we went to a burger place, so I had the assumption that we were going to spend a small fortune on our meals, but $10 for fries? Even for a burger place that's pricey. But we were here and I didn't want to let any expletives fly in front of my children, so we pressed ahead and placed our order. I purchased your run of the mill cheeseburger and my wife ordered a jalapeño burger of some kind and because we were already broke, we threw in a side of cajun fries as well. When in Big Buns, right? That's when we met the manager of the store. He came over and made sure that our order went through okay and brought us our drink. Genuinely, he was super nice and attentive – he was just the only one there. After about 15 minutes, our food came out and the first thing I noticed was the portion sizes. For a meal that cost about $30 for two hamburgers and a batch of fries, I was shocked at how small everything was. Now, admittedly, I've been spoiled by 5Guys and their generous portions, but even by normal standards, it felt skimpy. The fries and the burgers were fine, honestly nothing to write home about. Definitely not something that left me cursing in front of my children. We ate, we finished and we were just kind of bummed – there just wasn't anything that really stood out about it. No special sauce, no juicy burger, no crazy twist that we weren't expecting. Honestly, it tasted like a burger that we would have made better at home, and I'm not that good of a griller. The cajun fries were spicy, that is a point in Big Buns favor, they were good, but so small that they were gone in the blink of an eye...just like my $10 for them. There was also a very long hair in my hamburger which sufficiently ended my meal. All in all, a little disappointing and the hair made it just gross. The staff was super nice and made this a good experience generally, but the high prices and mediocre food make it somewhere we likely won't be visiting again.

For us, Big Buns in Vienna has become a regular go-to, especially for delivery. The food always arrives hot, fresh, and consistent, which is exactly what you want when burger cravings hit. It’s casual, fun, and reliable—comfort food that doesn’t miss. 🍔 Burgers & Sandwiches The burgers are awesome, and over time we’ve built a few favorites: - Hot & Hefe – bold, with pepper jack, pico de gallo, avocado, and sriracha aioli. It’s fiery, balanced, and one of our top picks. - Peppercorn Steakhouse – rich and savory with gruyère, mushrooms, onion straws, and peppercorn mayo. Always satisfying. - Shirlington Hot Chick Sub – a standout chicken sandwich, crispy and full of flavor, that has become another favorite in our rotation. 🍟 Fries & Sides Fries are a must here, and we usually go for the Cajun Fries—crispy, seasoned just right, and perfect alongside any burger or sandwich. They hold up well even on delivery, which is impressive. 🥤 Shakes & Drinks The shakes are classic and dependable. Our go-tos are chocolate and vanilla, both rich and creamy without being overly sweet. They pair perfectly with fries and make the meal feel complete. 🚗 Delivery & Convenience We mostly order delivery, and it’s been fast and reliable. Burgers stay intact, fries stay crisp, and shakes arrive cold. That consistency is a big part of why Big Buns has become a trusted option for us. ✨ Overall Experience Big Buns Vienna delivers exactly what we look for: awesome burgers, flavorful chicken sandwiches, Cajun fries, and rich shakes. With favorites like the Hot & Hefe, Peppercorn Steakhouse, and Shirlington Hot Chick Sub, it’s always a solid choice for a casual, satisfying meal—whether it’s delivery night or a quick dine-in stop.

It was an odd experience dining at Big Buns. Going in cold, not knowing anything about the restaurant but encouraged by the name Big Buns, I thought I was about to have an extraordinary high-quality burger experience at a spot that boldly names itself after the bread that the meat is served on, expecting a substantial bun having the structure to hold up to all the ingredients in the sandwich, not falling apart or becoming soggy. The Angus Beef burger I received was high-quality beef, thick, beautifully grilled, and flavorful. However, it was laughable that the burger was thicker than the bun it was served in. The name of the business, Big Buns, advertised a large bun, but in fact, it was tiny and soggy! I asked for a new, tiny bun and absorbed the burger grease with a couple of napkins. The use of shredded lettuce was another disappointment. High-quality burgers come with iceberg lettuce leaves. I expected an onion slice, not onion pieces, which came with it. The ketchup served in a small condiment container was low quality; it was watery and flavorless. The mustard was of reasonable quality and the fries were okay flavor-wise, but were served cold. I was not familiar with Maine Root Beverages served at Big Buns and was delighted at how flavorful the product is. I taste tested several flavors, and all were terrific. I ended up mixing root beer and ginger brew 50/50 to enjoy with my big-flavor Angus Beef Burger on a tiny bun. Real life is your best entertainment value, and I enjoyed the entertaining experience at Big Buns.

I Placed an order with a Nice Young Man ( I think Newer Empl) & Ask for two adjustments on SW Bowl. Extra Green Leaf Romaine & No Corn Tortilla chips but Sweet potatoes chips & No Lime but Parmersian Dressing instead. He said they let U take off but generally not substitute. MY order #95 - 43 on Sun 5.25.2024@8:06p $25.96. He went to manually tell lady in back & She told Him "She out of Sweet Potatoe Chips" the Spanish Little Short Lady with long hair had looked out at Me a few times following. Shortly, after The on duty (Spanish Mgr Gentlemen I had seen on my previous I us visits being trained by Silk the Mgr., he was seated at counter on his laptop. He came over to my table & asked was everything Allright? I indicated, I asked for Sweet potato chips & parmarsian creamy dressing & He said I'll get for U! And he returned with Both to my suprise. Ms Hatefull in the kitchen obviously INTENTIONALLY LIED TO CASHIER ABOUT SWEET POTATO CHIPS BEING OUT! As I Started to Eat some salad I noticed it wasn't just Tossed it was well finely mixed up all sticking together sort of. That normally, I would Toss Salad & Get it well Mixed Myself. But I Broke up My Burger & Ate Most. Later closer to 9p Mgr Asked if everything was OK, said yes. But The Early Morning Hours I Started Feeling Sick in My Stomach. That Resulted in Me Vomiting Repeatedly all Day & Throughout All Nite over 15 times Vomitting. I was So Weakened Could Not Stand Up or Lay down too long .... It was Very Painful & Tiredsome = No Energy Left! The Second day could only try to sleep to try to feel better & build a little energy & I could not Work 3 days & still as I type this Feel everso weakened still & stand for 10 minutes & must set back down or lay down!!! My body was traumatized & stomach now Very painfull & sore!!! OMG I Could Only Cry Aloud Repeatedly!!! I don't know what happened but Something in that Food was a problem seemingly. And with seemingly a short little seemingly hateful cook in the kitchen ... maybe Someone can look at a video tape or something. Because this obviously was Not Normal & I Wish this Upon NO ONE EVER! AND ITS SO SAD BECAUSE UNTIL THAT EMPLOYEE BLANTANTLY LIED TO THE CASHIER ON THIS EXPERIENCE... ALL OF MY PREVIOUS VISITS HAS BEEN GREAT & I LIKE TO SUPPORT GREAT SMALL BUSINESSES. BUT I THINK IM DONE WITH SALADS FOR A WHILE NOW AFTER THIS HORRIFIC VOMITING 🤢 REPEATEDLY WEAKENED MEE & I STILL CAN NOT STAND OR WALK FOR LONG PERIODS AT ALL -- STILL SO WEAK!!! I WISH THIS EXPERIENCE UPON NO ONE EVER!!! ITS RUINED MY WEEK OF WORKING 4 MYSELF WHICH AMOUNTS TO BIGG LOSSES TOO IN ADDITION TO MY PHYSICAL LOSSES OF CAN NOT FUNCTION YET ON EVE OF MAY 29TH...
