Lunar is way more of an off the beaten path kind of place. It's more of a bar that happens to also brew beer (fully stocked bar, guest taps, and even Bud- bottle only). It's definitely a community business with a strong contingent locals and regulars. Taking my see at the bar, I was definitely an outsider. Service was friendly enough, but they were definitely more content hanging out at the end of the bar chatting with regulars. As much as I felt like I was an intruder, I really like what they've got going. They're a community brewery. Expansion isn't really their goal. Being the local watering hole is their thing and it's cool. There are 3 dart boards around the place and I spent a drink throwing. They've got basic pub fair available, as well as a rotating selection of bombers for purchase (not their own). One thing to note is that they don't do flights, so pace yourself or...
Read moreI stopped by to check out some local brews, and I was anything but disappointed. The barkeep was fantastic, had no problem talking to me about any of the beers that they create, and volunteered to let me sample some tasters before I ordered a full pint. The owner even stopped by to chat with me, and let me sample some of the corned beef that was being made for their scheduled St. Patty party.
The beers were absolutely fantastic. There was not one brew that wasn't delicious, and this included some beers that I'm traditionally not a fan of (I'm looking at you barley wine). Their porter and IPA stood out as my two favorites, but really you couldn't go wrong with whatever you ordered. Disregard the poor reviews below, give these folks a visit, and support Lunar. They love what they do,...
Read moreThis place is set up more like neighborhood bar instead of a micro brewery. It's kind of dark inside and decorated like a local neighborhood watering hole, were all the locals come to congregate. The food is limited to a few bar snacks, including some frozen pizzas. They don't have a good selection of their own beers, but they sell them for slightly less and they offer a more generous pour. So I was a little disappointed. But they do carry a very good selection of beers from other microbreweries as well as the big competitors. The atmosphere is good and the staff is friendly. The parking lot is big enough to accommodate...
