I cant even put into words how amazing this locally owned business is! I came in before work, very much in need of a good coffee and they sure provided exactly that. I ordered an iced caramel latte and I was so pleased. Although the coffee is the main selling point, the first step you take inside you’re overcome by good vibes. From the astounding artwork hugging the walls all the way to the mellow music playing this place is all around a must go!!! The owner greeted me kindly upon my entrance and gave me a list of all the delicious iced drinks I should consider while I place my order. He then explained to me all the wonderful events they hosted before COVID. Man, I sure wish I came out here when they had the Plain White Tees playing outside and for the car shows they’d host here as well. This is a fine establishment with delicious coffee and an amazing management. I would recommend this place for anyone in the area or anyone who is willing to make the drive for a delicious cup of coffee.

I wanted to like this place since it is a local place, but it isn't that great. Walking in they had a cute sign outside, however when you enter the Coffee house it is quite dark inside. There were some regulars inside reading and drinking some coffee. There are board games that you can play with friends and there is art you can view along the wall which is pretty neat. The girl working behind the counter was very nice, and gave me suggestions as I looked at the menu. I ended up getting a hot chocolate as well as a Funkaccino with chocolate. The hot chocolate tasted as if it just came from your standard Swiss Miss packaging unfortunately. The Funkaccino was an ice blend with chocolate syrup and left an odd after taste when I would take a break from drinking the iced beverage. I ended up throwing it out because the after taste was just not doing it for me.

The vibe was on point as soon as I walked in. Locals chatting it up, free smells, and local artwork everywhere you look. Funky Java not only serves great coffee, but they also constantly support and encourage members of their community. It is a great space to relax, study, or get together with a group of friends. The owner and barista is always giving his customers the best experience, it is impossible to not smile in this establishment. Thank you Funky Java for making the small town of Villa Park a happier place.

Go here immediately!! Funky Java Coffee House is just the boost you need in your day!! The owner, Larry, is phenomenal. He always treats me like a person, not just a customer. He asks me about my buisness, hangs up my buisness cards, shows me pictures of his pets (I'm a petsitter). Absolutely wonderful.

His drinks are maybe not as flashy as Starbucks but they are good with tons of options. I'm avoiding dairy so he has the almond, soy and oat milk. He remembers my order too but always asks since I tend to change my mind.

Such a wonderful person and place and they allow dogs inside too! Although he typically doesn't sell food there is a bakery next door and Mike's deli. I definitely go out of my way to go here, always worth it.

Update: I hold business events here for local petsitters. Larry is very accommodating and kind to my groups. It's a perfect...
