La Chiquita Authentic Mexican Food — Restaurant in Villa Rica

I reserved the patio on 10/7 for Friday night 10/10/25 at 7:30pm for my husband’s surprise birthday party. They had 3 days to be readily staffed and able to handle a party of 20. That unfortunately was not the case. They sat us but did not give us any silverware. Another party came in and were seated and given silverware and taken care of immediately. We waited for drinks, waited quite some time to even get cheese dip. Finally were able to order and still didn’t have silverware when our food came. Then when asked again (five or six times asking) we were brought out to-go plastic ware. Steak items and things do not cut with plastic! Some people weren’t even able to eat their food at all. Then the manager had an issue with removing an item from a ticket that could not be eaten. To make it right the manager decided to bring everybody a shot of tequila. A lot of the people in our party were not even drinkers and did not want alcohol to make it right. But that is the only thing they were offering. Then when we got our tickets, we noticed That they charged us astronomical prices for things such as one strip of sour cream they charge two dollars. For a few lime wedges, they charged five dollars. For two people a ticket was $90 and they had put a $20 gratuity on the check. The check should have been around 65 but after the gratuity was added, the check came to $93. That was for a two person check. Now I understand that gratuity is automatically added for parties of six or more, but the price gouging that took place the attitude of well we just ran out of silverware instead of making sure someone was washed and brought out before the food was delivered. And then the dismissive manner of the Manager. All of this put a very sour taste in our mouth and these 20 people will never return to this restaurant again. Oh, not to mention, they only had one server working the entire party, and most of us sat there for the majority of the meal with nothing to drink because we could not...

I was a loyal customer both in store and through Door Dash, I won’t be doing business with them anymore and I advise you not to as well. Last night I decided to do Door dash because I was watching a movie and craving Texas Nachos. You know, the ones with Shrimp, Chicken, and Beef. When my order arrived it was Beef Nachos, not the more expensive Texas. I immediately called the restaurant. The guy who answered was apologetic and stated not only would they refund my money, but they would remake my order and deliver it. I offered not once, but twice to just drive up to the restaurant and pick the order up myself. He said, No ma’am, we will deliver it. An hour of waiting and NOTHING. I call back to restaurant and a different guy answers who tells me that they are not remaking my order. They can refund “some” of my money. This disappointed me greatly because I was really craving those Texas Nachos. But ok. So now it’s morning of day 2. Guess what? No Refund Either. I don’t understand why the 1st guy wouldn’t just let me come to the restaurant and pick up a new order (and return the wrong order) AND why I was lied to about a Refund. I also took photos of meal and my receipt but for some reason I am unable to post those here. Very small portion size for amount charged and the beef was very fatty. I didn’t eat the Beef Nachos. When I first started ordering from here I was highly impressed. 5 star rating impressed! I went back several times for the Azada street tacos with cilantro and onions, steak Quesadilla City with refried beans instead of the avocado salad and plain corn instead of Mexican. Also, a 16 oz. Texas strawberry margarita on the rocks to go each time as well. They began to know me by name. I told people about this place and how good the food was. About two months in, I noticed that the steak was not the same. It didn’t taste the same and the the flavor was not there in every bite like before. The steak was chewy and fatty. So, the next time I ordered, I mentioned it to the manager and he knew what I was talking about because he had noticed it too. He said the cook told him it was the cow and not the way it was being cooked. So, I didn’t order for awhile. I remembered what drew me to the restaurant in the first place. It was the Restaurant itself, the staff, and mostly the taste of the food. My sister and I agreed it was really flavorful each bite. However, that all changed as I would soon find out when I ordered again. I like beef and the quality and taste of the beef is no longer impressive. The steak is chewy and the tacos and quesadillas are no longer flavorful. I don’t know if they hired a new cook or what.
