Ivee's at Main — Restaurant in Village of Germantown

We hadn't been here in several years. My wife Deborah and I were in the area around lunch time, we were both hungry and just happened to be driving by Ivee's. We decided to stop in. It was past peak lunch hour the place was comfortably full not crowded. A mix of Seniors and professional types stopping in for lunch. Ivee's is open for breakfast and lunch; closes at 2p. They also offer a Friday Fish fry btwn 11a and 8p. We ordered burgers--Deb ordered their standard1/3 #er w/ American cheese and L&T, sided w fries. I had a bacon cheese burger w cheddar, LTO and fries. Iced tea for Deb, coffee for me.

Botton line: This was the best burger I've had in a really, really long time. Ivee's claims to use only fresh ground beef and they appear to be hand formed when ordered. The last time I had a burger this good was when I lived in Madison 40 years ago. There was this gin joint on Johnson St. which also happened to be the Madison cop shop. They cooked their burgers on a flat top. Salt & pepper, American cheese, that's it. Plain supermarket bun. Ivee's offers an eclectic range of burgers; topped w/ fried egg, choice of cheeses, mushrooms, jalapenos, paperback, BBQ yadda, yadda, yadda.

Came here a week ago because I read such good reviews. My friend and I waited ONE hour for our food. Tables of 4-6 were seated after us and got their food before us. Our waitress did not check on us. When we tried to get the older ladies attention who was working she said "hang on" went to the kitchen brought out someone else's food and never came back to our table. Our waitress walked by us and mumble "you don't have your food" never came back. When we finally got our BF the older lady who ignored us brought us our order, never once apologized for the wait they even billed us for our lemonades. Didn't take anything off after we sat there for an hour no apology from anyone. Bad service the food is the same as going to George webs. I think most people who are doing reviews are regulars. I live close and alwanted to try this place. I will never be going back. They don't know what they are doing. I work in the service industry myself and if I didn't I don't think I would have even left a tip. But I left 2.00 dollars. Honestly don't know why people are raving about this place. There is...

Oh. My. Goodness! This place is absolutely the best place for breakfast in town!

I stopped in early in the morning to get some breakfast before I had to work, and I was NOT disappointed at all! The service was quick, the food was AMAZING, and most importantly, it was warm and cozy, unlike the outside!

Honestly, I don't have any complaints about anything, but especially not about the food! I got the Ivee Special (3 eggs, 3 bacon strips, toast, hash browns, and 2 sausage patties). The eggs were perfect, the bacon was crispy, the toast was crispy and buttery, and the hash browns and sausage were spot on! I also got a fruit bowl, and every piece of fruit was crisp and cool and a glass of juice, which was also really good. On top of that, the meal was only $20 for everything. 10/10 for sure!

The service was quick and efficient! I was in and out in maybe 25 minutes, including waiting for the meal and me being indecisive. My server was also super nice and understanding! Another 10/10 as well!
