One would think that going to a restaurant on a lake, in the off season, you'd get good service. Well, in addition to having to buy bad chips and tasteless salsa, I felt like a managed to irritate the waitress within the first 5 minutes I was there. All of December is supposedly taco Tuesday, 2 tacos for $5. Don't you dare try to order more than 2 tacos at the discount, 2 is the limit. Also you can't trust the menu prices. The old "bait and switch technique" is alive and well here. When I inquired why my bill reflected a higher price than the menu stated I was told it's because of the fine print stating "prices are subject to change." That's not what that phrase means. Our waitress told me she'd adjust it on my bill, she didn't (I'm a math capable adult, even after a margarita). On the topic of menu prices, they aren't listed on their website. I found them on door dash, just to be very disappointed that their restaurant menu prices are up to $2 more expensive in the restaurant. The 1 star is earned because their $11 margarita was actually worth it. Enjoy the captive audience of visitors to Pewaukee beach in the summer, because this isn't a restaurant I'd choose to...
Read moreMe and my wife wanted to dine at a sunset / lake facing restaurant and tried this place. It has a good location but were disappointed with the food, margarita we ordered. It is a small place with limited seating and we ordered genuine lime margarita, nachos to begin with. We were told they only serve pinto beans and not black beans (which is a first one I heard for a Mexican joint). We placed the order and after 5 mins requested a change to chips, salsa, guacamole as pinto beans are typically cooked in beef broth which we avoid. The server was kind to make the change. The margarita (costed $13) was nowhere close to a typical Mexican margarita and this was served in plastic cup. The chips were not very crispy, fresh and the guacamole tasted as if it was made for some time and kept. The color was pale green and not the avocado shade of green. This happens when guacamole is made and kept for sometime (it begins to oxidize - it is not harmful but tastes less fresh). Food experience was bad, location is nice and the server was kind. 1 margarita and 1 chips, salsa, guacamole costed us $25. Will not...
Read moreWe stopped with the motorcycles on Labor Day weekend. The food was good, but the service sucked and the prices are outragous. The waitress did exactly what she had to, took our order and brought our food. Did not chat, did not ask if everything was ok, or can I get you anything else? They charge $13.00 for a mango margarita that is in a very small cup loaded with ice. A regular margaita was $10, and loaded with ice as well. They charged $5.25 for a tiny little plastic cup of pico, and $3.45 for a tiny cup of salsa. Most Mexican restaurants give you that complementary. One of our party could not eat the shrimp tacos because it was too spicy for her. She then ordered chicken tacos. They made no effort to put them at the front of the orders. They came about 45 minutes later when we were ready to leave. Then both entres were on the bill. The shrimp should have been ommited. The total bill for four adults at a dumpy Mexican restaurant was $125.42. I know it's Pewaukee, and over looking the lake, but big deal. It totally was...
