Captain D's — Restaurant in Vincennes

Stopped in yesterday 12/18/23. What a disappointment. Although the server was nice and tried to be helpful, we got cheated on both our meals. ( No side with the Fish and Fry meal.) The guy in the kitchen kept shooting me dirty looks. While I was ordering but not yet paid, I switched one thing. When she moved to bag my orders, the kitchen guy got onto her for "confusing" him by switching the order. Really talked down to this poor girl because I changed MY order before it was even paid for. When I asked to see the manager, she told me the rude kitchen guy WAS the manager. And a regional manager at that. Felt totally unwelcome. And after all that, the food was awful as well. Greasy, tasteless. One piece of fish was actually chicken. This review is based on a drive through order placed at lunch.

Got to menu board and had a car pulling off from speaker. Was asked to hold at speaker for a minute before ordering. About 30 seconds later my order was taken. Pulled to window as the car in front was pulling away. Paid immediately. Food order came up within 1 minute. Total time 3 minutes from menu to pulling away with meal.

Staff - the gentleman waiting on me was friendly, and fast.

Food - the 3 piece fish was as good as any other Captain Ds, not greasy, light flaky breading, Food was hot. Hushpuppies were same as fish, non-greasy, not hot but warm. Green beans were warm and tasted great. Same with MacnCheese.

All in all I had a friendly, fast and efficient experience. Same as said before, food is as good a Captain Ds...

I have always loved this place and still do..thus visit the food wasn't all that great and was disappointed that I got 2 deluxe platters (meals) and the drinks i had to pay 4 bucks for 2. I just bought 20 bucks in food i think a drink should come with the meal...other than that and the food being off or maybe a lil older it was great... A kid named Frank was working...he did an amazing job i asked to close the blinds he did with a smile on his face and he was so polite...Keep it up frank managment should recognize...
