Ah, yes—Chubby’s, a most unexpectedly delightful establishment. In a world so often bent on haste and convenience, it is quite rare indeed to discover a place that both honors tradition and serves fare of such undeniable substance. I must say, my recent visit to this humble burger joint left me thoroughly pleased and, dare I confess, rather charmed.
Upon entering, one is immediately struck by the convivial ambiance—a spirited blend of nostalgia and honest simplicity. The décor at Chubby’s leans toward the rustic yet retains a modern sensibility, an aesthetic that beckons patrons to linger rather than simply dine and dash. This is no mere pitstop for the hurried; it is a locale that encourages one to savor, to take stock, and to relish every morsel.
The menu, while concise, is robust in its offerings, each item thoughtfully crafted to appeal to both the modest palate and the burger connoisseur alike. Naturally, I opted for the house specialty—the Chubby’s Classic Burger, a towering delight whose proportions could humble a lesser man. Presented with due care, the burger boasted a marvelously juicy patty, perfectly seared and seasoned to enhance, rather than overshadow, the flavor of the beef itself. The toppings were fresh, thoughtfully selected, and in no way overdone—crisp lettuce, vine-ripened tomatoes, and a tangy house sauce that added a delightful piquancy without overwhelming the burger’s natural essence.
The buns, I must add, were a revelation in their own right—soft yet sturdy, with just the right hint of sweetness. These were not mere vehicles for the ingredients but active participants in the culinary experience, holding together the sumptuous assembly with admirable resolve.
In a world where the art of the French fry is so often sacrificed to haste, Chubby’s has taken care to restore this humble side to its former glory. Each golden baton was fried to perfection, bearing an exterior crispness that gave way to a tender, pillowy interior. The salt was applied with commendable restraint, allowing the natural flavor of the potato to shine through. Quite a noble gesture, indeed, and one that did not go unnoticed by this gentleman’s discerning taste buds.
The service, too, was an absolute delight—attentive without intruding, affable yet professional. The young woman, her name i recall being Julianna who attended to my table took evident pride in her work, describing each menu item with a genuine enthusiasm that one rarely encounters. Her recommendations were as astute as they were passionate; clearly, the staff at Chubby’s do not merely serve burgers—they revere them.
In conclusion, Chubby’s has managed to elevate the humble burger to an experience that borders on the exalted. It is a place where simplicity meets sophistication, where tradition is respected yet subtly enhanced by...
Read moreI was so disgusted with the way my family was treated. My brother in law had his food delivered but during the delivery the food fell accidently on the floor and partially on my brother in law. I am not mad at an accident they happen totally understandable. During that time waitress was nervous and scared. Trying to let her know she is okay and we are not mad. She walks away brother in law goes to the bathroom to clean himself off. Cook heads out to talk to us saying he is really sorry and if he can get us some scones on the house. We graciously declined saying you don't have to do that but we really appreciate the gesture. He waves and is about to walk away and we ask " He is still getting wings right?" And that is when everything changed the cook then says no because it was his fault for knocking over the wings. I can go on with this story and how the staff was sneaking their words around trying not to tell us they want to make more food. I was very upset for this diseption talk. I told him I don't care who did it. Can we get this guy some more food. Because he came here because he was hungry I am even willing to pay for it if the restaurant has a problem paying for it. After the second plate of food came out the cook served it and said to my brother. "Don't snack it on the floor this time." That sent me over the edge and everyone at the table as well. We will no longer be eating at this establishment. The food is great and I love it but there is something in your restaurant that will always leave a bad taste...
Read moreChubby’s is simply said an incredible place to grab some grub. Whether alone or with a large group, they have the variety and the room to accommodate your party. The burgers are big, juicy, and flavorful. The sandwiches include all the regulars like their very tasty Rueben and their popular Chubby Cheesecake, along with several more unique offerings (Hint: try the shrimp poboy!). Their chicken sandwiches are better than most chicken joints, including my favorite Jalapeño Ranch Deluxe.
And the sides! Holy cow!! Yes their battered fries with their tasty special fry sauce is perfectly done every time (pro tip: add some Tony Chachere Cajun seasoning to the fry sauce to takes it to a whole other level).
But don’t forget the scones, hush puppies, or Mac & cheese (again, some Cajun Tony Chachere seasoning is most excellent). Sometimes I skip the entrees and just order sides.
The banana pudding will make you think you’re in the South! So good!!
Chubby’s makes everything fresh. They don’t purchase pre made industrial ingredients. It’s all fresh and done in house.
I do miss the Chubby’s challenge….they should bring that back….but everything else is excellent and just gets better and better.
I don’t know if Chubby’s is heart-healthy, but it is definitely...
