Don't sleep on this place! Yes, its in a roller skating rink so maybe not your idea of a date night (unless skating is your thing) but the food was excellent and perfect for takeout. I'm a sucker for lamb Rogan Josh and pretty much judge an Indian establishment based on how I enjoy their version. There's were flavorful, with the right amount of heat and the portions were good sized. We also ordered the saag curry (spinach) which was just as tasty. The chicken 555 was a huge portion and great, definitely leaning to the Chinese side of things. The vegetable samosas were exactly what I'd expect, crisp on the outside filled, tender inside with potatoes and peas. The gentleman that took my order gave me a mango lassi. My wife said it was a great treat as well. Overall, we'll be back for take...
Read moreTheir hours online said they were open. Their online portal even took our order and charged us. When we showed up they simply weren’t there. It’s the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday and it isn’t a holiday so idk what’s up. We checked with the skate rink employees and they were just as confused as we were. We couldn’t even figure out when to discuss getting a refund for our $80 purchase because they don’t know when they will be back again. So we had to leave our phone number with the front desk of the skate rink and hope we get a call at some point to get our money back. Meanwhile, while I’m typing this I have a hungry toddler screaming in our ear so we have to go elsewhere and spend even more money to rectify that situation....
Read moreI ordered veg momos, schezuan fried rice, Hakka noodles and chicken lollipop. My family said chicken lollipop was great. Momos had mushrooms. I had checked 3 times before ordering as I am heavily allergic to mushrooms. The cashier issued a refund and apologized. Schezuan fried rice tasted more like a mix of biryani and pulao. Hakka noodles was slightly undercooked and had an excess of pepper. It overpowered any other flavors noodles may have had. Overall I would say I was disappointed. The closest restaurant that serves really good Indo Chinese food would be Aago in Newport News. Sadly Amritha doesn’t come anywhere close to Aago in terms of taste...
