This Las Palmas location is at Lynnhaven Mall. It's pretty much next to where Uno Pizza used to be at and across from the AMC Theater. Getting to the mall and finding the location is not that bad, but parking can be a nightmare finding a spot. Staff at the mall stores still park in the customer parking areas instead of where they are supposed to be parking. This was my first visit to this location and was on July 3, 2018.
Once you've found parking, finding the place is pretty easy with their well lit signage. The outside of the building is typical of what you would see with a Mexican restaurant. We decided to try out this location since we had a coupon for it. We've been to their first location on Princess Anne Rd. several times.
Once we came inside, we were immediately seated and someone was right behind us with the chips, red sauce and white sauce. A few seconds later, our server was at the table asking for our drink orders. At the same time, we ordered the cheese dip. While waiting for the cheese dip to come out, we actually talked to one of the other servers we knew from the other location. It was definitely an upbeat atmosphere on this visit. A few minutes later our server was back with the cheese dip and asked if we were ready to order. I ordered the Burrito California with chicken, but substituted rice for more beans instead.
While having the chips and really good cheese dip, our entrees came out. They were piping hot and looked quite fresh. After tasting, you could tell it was fresh all the way around with lots of taste and flavor. The server came back to check to ensure everything was good, which it was (it was really amazing actually). In summary, the food was cooked well and was delicious.
Overall, this was a great experience at this location, and is up to the same standards as their other location. The only drawback with this location is parking, but that's outside their circle of control. With great food, a great staff, and great experience, this is definitely the recipe to success at this restaurant. I will definitely be back to this location, as well as their other location, again in the future. This brand ranks at the top of my list for Mexican restaurants in Virginia Beach. If you're looking for this type of cuisine, look no further than the Las Palmas brand. You won't be...
Read moreCame here straight for the Russia World Cup 2018 since I saw a picture of them having a projector with a big screen. However the screen was not clear so we sat near the bar to watch the tvs over there, but those tvs are way too blurry. Howerer, the atmosphere here was nice, the decorations here are cute, the server was super energetic, friendly and works fast, and the food are delicious.
After having our water we have been sat on the table for a while and haven't order yet since we were too concentrate on the match( You'll know that feeling if you watch live sports lol). Our server gave us the tortillas chips and sauce, and didn't rush to take our order, and I really appreciate that. We finally order our food during the half time and we ordered the combo meat Fajitas and Arroz Con Carne.
The Fajitas- comes with rice, beans, salsa, sour cream, guacamole and 4, yes, 4 soft tortillas. The onion was a bit burned but other than that everything were delicious.
The Arroz Con Carne- I had this dish from the other Las Palmas on Princess Anne Rd and I liked the one over there better because they put more cheese on the rice, but it's still taste good tho. I prefer my steak medium to medium rare so the steak to me is overcooked so I think I'll ask for that next time if I'm ordering the same dish.
For all those food with some tortillas chips to take home and all the good service and good atmosphere, our bill came to less than 20 dollars(lunch), and since the three of us are not big eaters so we just shared our food, and with tips each of us paid 8 dollars, that's totally out of our expectations. I'll definitely come back again for regular lunch time or when there are some live sports. However I recommend them to buy...
Read moreLas Palmas is quickly a place I am steering away from this location in particular is the worst . I went with some friends and ordered a horchata , it tasted off and nasty . I LOVE horchata and have had it many times from here but it seems it spoiled and it smelt like rotten milk . I told the server but as I was still explaining he runs off so I had to chase someone else down to let him know I do not want that anymore. We finallly get our food , it wasn’t bad but it definitely wasn’t good with their price increase it is not worth it at all . Plenty of better Mexican at a decent price around the area . My friend got Arroz con pollo which was 18.99 I was surprised that my shrimp Texan bowl was cheaper at 15, now if you are going to raise your prices you must make it make sense . Then to top it off I got a to go order they charge a fee for placing a Togo order so watch out for that and when I asked about the fee , the waiter says it’s for the chips and salsa .. what ? Since when do we pay for that and why not ask if I want that instead of doing it anyways and charging extra when you already raised your prices for “ okay food “ and spoiled horchata . Anyways he runs off again with another attitude while I’m still talking . He apparently got someone to take it off but my total was the same . At that point I did not care I just wanted to leave . Also it was practically empty and now I see why , it’s just not worth it I understand it’s not the servers fault for the restaurant trying to get a higher profit but at least hear me out and don’t run off everytime somthing is wrong ....
