Wow! The customer service is outstanding. The place is clean. The dairy-free cappuccinos and mocha lattes are the best weâve ever had. My husband said itâs because the guy who made it didnât burn the espresso. He made it the way itâs meant to be made - and perfectly. They also came with a beautiful heart flowery design in the foam! That was a lovely touch they we both appreciated. Iâve never had Phillipino pastries before, except once at a friend of oursâ party. So, wanting something new different, for a fun day date,we Googled bakeries. This place was open during the âsnow dayâ when Virginia shut down for a week because we got 4 inches of snow! We ordered two different flavors of every type of pastry, to try each pastry made two ways, in flavors we already know we like. We shared each pastry. With no place to dine-in, we brought them home. Let me tell you, Iâm a picky eater and have tons of food allergies, so finding things I can and WANT to eat is a feat. This place will have repeat customers in us because the pastries and coffees are exceptional! The chicken one on the right in the first window is so good, I wish we had ordered several of those. The apple pie flavored small ones on the far left are my second favorite. My husbandâs fav was the pepperoni pizza one on the right. The huge pineapple danish type of thing was oh my goodness yummmmmy. The sponge cake was my least favorite, but the flavor of it was amazing. It was a lil fireworks display in my mouth! I would have liked it better if it was a different texture. I guess I donât like sponge cake because I couldnât get over the dense, dry spongy texture. The cream cheese in it made it better, but it needs to be more moist with more cream cheese to offset the sponge. I want to get more of the chicken things already! The other thing we didnât try because I know we already will like the donut things, but weâll get those next time with the astride we now love. It was also not expensive for a really cool date! I paid $30 for everything. We will do...
Read moreAngie's Bakery is my parents go-to place for hot fresh pandesal rolls for over 30+ years. The mini ensaymadas, which are sweet bread with butter and sugar on top, are delicious as well. They're usually closed whenever I'm in the mood for some yummy pandesal, so check their bakery hours before heading over there. They have posted a sign on their door on several occasions stating they were closed for a few weeks to go on vacation during the fall or winter breaks.
Here are the hours that is printed on their door as of Dec. 2018: Saturday-Sunday: 9am-6pm Monday: Closed Tuesday-Friday: 9am-5pm
TIPS if you're interested: When you buy the hot pandesal, make sure you rip the paper bag open to let the rolls cool down without getting too wet or else they will mold easily. Then once cooled, place them in a Ziplock plastic bag and remove all the air in the bag. That's the way our pandesals last longer. Toast the pandesals in the oven for a few minutes. They are great either plain or with butter or with Philadelphia cheese or with sliced or any kind of cheese or with Nutella or even with ice cream (that's my cousin's thing..he loves it). They do offer room temp pandesals already packaged and placed on the shelves. I noticed through the years that some of the bakery items behind the glass were not same day fresh, but still good. You have to spend more than $10 if you plan to pay by...
Read moreOk, I didnât know what to expect here because I wasnât familiar with Filipino food - but this was AMAZING.
Food: Definitely try their Ube bread - it is sweet, but not too sweet - the filling is purple sweet potato that theyâve made into a type of sugary paste. It comes warm - I got there right before they closed and it still tasted fresh. They make everything homemade right on that day. They have tons of other types of bread as well - I tried quite a few, and you really canât go wrong.
Service: I told the woman at the counter that it was my first time, and she gave me a âtourâ of all of the breads, going through each one, telling me what was in it, what it tasted like, etc. she was SO nice and very helpful.
Price: Affordable. Paid $2-$3 per piece of bread and it allowed me to try a lot of them. The bread is also a significant size, and some portions come with multiple pieces.
Highly recommend trying this to anyone whoâs new - tho it might spoil you cuz after eating these, your standards...
