I've been to the Baker's Crust in the Hilltop section of the city several times. However, this location is closer to me, so I knew I needed to come in and try out the new location. This location is in the Landstown Commons Shopping Center. It's located at the exiting side of the one way circle road in the shopping center. My visit here was on February 27, 2020. We came in at an off peak time, so it wasn't too busy in there when we came in. It was picking up though when we were finishing up. We were immediately seated and shortly thereafter our server Taylor was at the table greeting herself and asking if we wanted something to drink. We did get something to drink and when she came back, she asked if we were ready to order and we were. The reason we came in to try them out on this day was because it was a Thursday. On Thursdays, they have select pizzas at $6 as a part of their Pizza and Pints night. We got the Tavern Chips as an appetizer since it was during happy hour. I went with a pepperoni pizza on this visit. A few moments later the tavern chips came to the table. They were just as good as the ones we've had at the Hilltop location. We've usually got them during Virginia Beach Restaurant Week if we've visited during one of these events. I'm glad we were given some time to enjoy this before the pizzas came out to the table. The pizzas looked really good and also tasted great. They are big enough to have some left over for another time as well. Overall, food and service were great during this visit. They have more than just pizza. There is something on the menu for everyone. I do plan to come back here again in the future. If your travels take you to the Landstown Commons Shopping Center and looking for a place to check out for lunch or dinner, this is a great spot to come and visit.

Chef had restored the French Onion soup and the hummus with pita end of 2024… Power to the people. šŸ˜‚ But honestly again. Chef has been changing the menu too much. Avocado toast on hummus is a bust; the pastrami hash was dry and the potatoes with it weren’t fresh. Glad Chef has added steak frites. Hard to go wrong with that. I took most of both my breakfasts home but had to dump the avocado toast and the hash was dry as pennies warmed up. It’s still my favorite me time, dine alone cafe in the beach! But the menu is suffering in 2025. No idea what is going on but some of us need more than a smash burger. please keep the shawarma and Bring back the sliders and please know that avocado toast is a thing not just sliced avocado on bread. Besides, Hummus and avocado are the same texture so they don’t marry well on toast. Blechā€¼ļø Ok. I’m done with BC. Been a loyal diner for five years. Never had a bad meal. The new menu’s terrible. Unseasoned overcooked vegetables. Lukewarm frites with dry warmish steak frites, and staff who seem to resent the feedback. Stop. I am never rude but I’m not going to lie about my plate. In business you want to know when you are doing swell or not from your customers who have patronized you repeatedly and recommended you to visitors. Used to be my go to in Landstown at least twice a month for years. You do the math. Elsewhere here I come. Obviously BC does not want my business. No worries. Deal.

The prices have gotten ridiculous! I paid $4.99 to add bacon to a kids burger and $1.50 for cheese so $16.50 for a kids meal! Then they charge a 3.5% "transaction fee" now on top of this! Plus tax etc! And I ordered a glass of wine to wait for my food and they were out of both Malbec and Cabernet and I had to get it removed from the bill bc I dont like pinot noir. People are nice, but I just feel totally nickled and dimed. I would not have added the toppings if I knew it was that expensive but they didn't tell me when I ordered over the phone. I was told 20 to 25 minutes and waited 35. I ordered at 7:13 arrived at 7:25 and waited until 7:47 ish to get the food. Then I looked at the expensive burger and it had TWO slices of bacon on it!!! $2.50 per slice?! And the fries with it were already cold upon receipt. My gluten free pizza which was my favorite that I've ordered many times was my reason for ordering, which by the way costs $2 extra, was awful this time. It was like a hard cracker with a tiny amount of sauce and toppings in very middle. My husband got same pizza in the regular crust and his looked and tasted SO much better than mine, which was much smaller and his had plenty of sauce and toppings. See pictures for comparison. $100 plus order and it was terrible! We just got home from long road trip and I didnt have time to cook but I want to cry now!

I work for a production company and had to make a pick up order for about 8-10 people. It was my first time ordering from them, when I arrived at the restaurant and got my order there were at least three orders missing and I had to wait for them to be made, putting me behind schedule. The hostess didn’t do her due diligence by double checking the order and making sure everything was there or else I would have walked out missing orders if I didn’t check myself. I also noticed that ingredients were missing from the salads I ordered. After this experience, I did not want to give them my business again. Today I tried to give them a second chance, because they possibly had a bad day that day, but was met with a nasty attitude over the phone. I was being spoken over and spoken to in a very condescending manner. Because I had one order that I would have had to call back and add to my pick up order, I was told that he couldn’t do anything and I would have to call back and start over, he then proceeded to hang up in my face without letting me say anything further. I called back and spoke to the manager letting her know that he needed to be retrained, or reprimanded because that is not how you speak to customers and you don’t hang up in their face. I let her know that we could have spent well over $100 for dinner but that they would not be getting our business again. This was for the Landstown Commons location on Princess Anne. Bad attitude, Bad service, work on improving the hospitality here and thoroughly finishing customer orders...
