Wanted to try this place while we was in Virginia Beach seen it on triple D's. The staff are very friendly and the place was very clean. After being seated the waitress took our drink and appetizer order. While looking over the menu we received our drinks and Mozzarella cheese sticks. We made our order's my wife went with the bagel breakfast sandwich with a side breakfast potatoes. My son ordered a cheese burger with double fries while I went with Dave's grilled Pub club sandwich with pepper Jack pasta salad and potato salad for my sides. Everything we ordered was very good with generous portions. We of course finished the meal with one slice of Key lime pie, being stuffed from all the food we had that one slice gave use the little bit of sweetness we needed. Overall it was a very good experience.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is great. The service was wonderful and they were very helpful. I recommend the chicken tenders (yeah I know...near the ocean you want fish but they were amazing, my daughter got them) I had the flounder which was delicious along with their broccoli salad and hushpuppies. I highly recommend the broccoli salad. The only thing we didn't care for was the clam chowder, it was nothing near New England clam chowder nor was it described as one on the menu. It was like a broth with clams bacon and potatoes...it was good just not what we wanted. Other than that I highly recommend. Oh and also they had a map of the USA where all the travelers throughout the years put a pin where they lived which I thought was awesome.

Great small local restaurant close to VA Beach Boardwalk. Decided to check it out and so glad I did. The chicken egg rolls are BANGING, like I could eat them every day!! My shrimp & lobster plate was good but needed a bit of doctoring up in the seasonings department but you could tell it was fresh. The servers are honest with opinions / recommendations which I totally appreciate & respect. I totally dig the rocking outside tables, keeps up that cool ocean & swing vibe. Definitely added to my 'Faves' list and will return when back down at the beach.

I'm really sort of torn in my review. What my companion ordered was told to be magnificent as did our neighboring tables entree's.. Mine however.. not even close! Looking for something fast fresh and simple... I ordered 1/2 lbd. steamed shrimp. What came to the table was about a dollar per shrimp and looked tasty.. but in the first bite I found that this might not be so good. My shrimp was undercooked, much worse than raw since the heat brings out the bacteria yet it wasn't cooked enough to have been "safe". I sent it back into the kitchen.. again, it came out not only STILL undercooked and plated differently, but this time in taking a bite, my nose caught whiff of the most ungodly smell of ROTTEN...I couldn't believe it. Immediately I dropped the shrimp, and smelled my hands. Yeap there was no doubt that this was something I shouldn't be smelling at dinner much less in a restaurant table. I'm not sure which one it was or I'd have taken a picture. They were so spiced with old bay that I couldn't have rightly pinpointed one out for sure, although I had my suspicions onone in particular. When I took the plate back, nothing was said or compensated other than she would remove it from the bill.. Nevermind that we had asked for small fries twice and in sitting and watching everyone else eat I finally asked if the fries were almost ready.. They were never ordered as she assumed the stance of uncertainty in whether we were actually wanting them when requesting the order!!! Yeeea, okay. This morning I am thinking to cll the Manager as I haven't heard anything but good things about the food. Our order was 45 minutes in for broiled blackend fish, salad, potatoes which are usually either kept in a warmer or microwaved. And a salad.. Meanwhile how difficult is it to cook SHRIMP? In memory now, I had noticed she was pushing for the fried shrimp when I ordered so perhaps next time I go out somewhere I may take the recommendation.. then again, would I have been eating spoiled fried shrimp and not have noticed...

The Beach Pub in Virginia Beach is a hidden gem that is sure to please seafood lovers. The restaurant has been serving up fresh, delicious seafood for over 40 years, and it shows. The menu is extensive, with something to satisfy everyone's taste. I had the fried shrimp, oysters Rockefeller, and rockfish, and everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The shrimp were crispy and juicy, the oysters were creamy and decadent, and the rockfish was flaky and flavorful. The sides were also excellent, and the hush puppies were especially good. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was casual and relaxed. I highly recommend The Beach Pub to anyone looking for a great seafood meal in Virginia Beach.

Here are some more details about my experience:

The fried shrimp were perfectly cooked. They were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The breading was light and flavorful, and the shrimp were perfectly seasoned. The oysters Rockefeller were amazing. The oysters were perfectly cooked and the spinach and artichoke mixture was creamy and decadent. The dish was topped with a delicious buttery sauce that really brought it all together. The rockfish was flaky and flavorful. It was cooked perfectly and was moist and tender. The fish was served with a delicious lemon butter sauce that complemented the fish perfectly. The sides were also excellent. The hush puppies were especially good. They were light and fluffy and had a perfect crunch on the outside. The fries were also crispy and delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations. She was also very attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed. The restaurant is located on the oceanfront, so you can enjoy the view while you eat. The restaurant is also family-friendly, so it's a great place to...

Was suggested this restaurant because it is kid friendly. It was kid friendly, but that’s it—and I might not even give them that because they didn’t give us extra napkins, just the single napkin that comes with the silverware—we’ve got a 2 year old at the table, come on! The food was like cafeteria food (also plated on hospital cafeteria plates), the oysters Rockefeller were wayyy over cooked and the cheese was gritty and cold (not melted at all). My boyfriend requested a medium cooked hamburger with just cheddar and bacon, but received an over well done burger with lettuce, onion and cheese and no bacon. Why ask the cook of your burger if it’s not going to be cooked like that? My brother couldn’t even finish his soft shell crab sandwich—it was all breading and grease. We also did not receive a placemat or silverware for one person in our party. They had to use the oyster fork to eat their meal. They didn’t come to check on us after we received our food, no refills, no napkins, no check—and I had to go ask the one waitress SITTING at the counter for napkins and the check when they neglected to come back to our table, and no she did not have a broken foot like the waitress before her shift change did (in case the owner was reading this). The dining room wasn’t even half full, they had a handful of servers, AND we came between meal hours—so it was not busy. I wouldn’t take the time to write this if I didn’t feel this strongly about warning possible patrons about this restaurant. ‘Twas not good AT ALL: 0/10 would not do again. I do not believe for one second Guy Fieri stepped foot into this restaurant. — From A Former...
