The hostess when seating us told us 3 times within the first 10 minutes of seating us we had a 1.5 hour time limit. As if, I did not hear her the first or the second time. What a way to be made to feel welcome. The bartender had not even had a moment to take our drink order when she again tells me there is a 1.5 hour time limit, for the fourth time. Mind you it was 3 pm on Saturday and the entire restaurant is empty. The bartender tells me not to worry about it, but the hostess goes behind the bar and points at me and my friend and tells him we must be kept to 1.5 hour time limit... mind you we still have not received a drink and it is 15 minutes into our reservation.
Side note she also told me I could not sit at a a specific bar seat due to covid 6 ft rule... No problem that was fine and I complied graciously. She then proceeded to seat a gentleman there in the exact, I had been sitting in 5 minutes earlier... I could not even make this up.
She then harassed the nice middle aged gentleman that she sat in my original seat, that he also had a 1.5 hour time limit... He was having a drink while waiting for his wife to come (you know how normal people do) and then they had planned on grabbing a nice dinner together when she arrived. But he was also turned away due to the "allotted time schedule."
Meanwhile, there are no staff available to take orders, guide us through the menu options or the specials, check in on or make our drinks.
So an hour in, I have one drink in front of me that I didn't care for but sipped to be polite. I then requested a sample of wine and placed my appetizer order. She then comes back to the bar and proceeds to remind me of the time limit again over my shoulder. At that point I tell her "no problem. I will leave right now." As I realized there was no way, with such slow service and such an obnoxious hostess, I was going to be able to even order an entree, let alone enjoy myself. Restaurant is still empty and I have pics of it all!!!
Let me emphasize this all began at 3 pm on a Saturday for a reservation that I had made and showed up 5 minutes early for. And ended at 4 pm... Pics Included. Don't mind my face- that was the mood this obnoxious hostess gave me.
I have dined here so so so many times in the past and it was my Favorite. They also had the time limit then, and we never had a problem with it. We were gently reminded in the past at the time of booking and while being seated without an issue of feeling unwelcome or harassed, in previous visits. The service was also very attentive and speedy, the chef popped out masterpieces in minutes.
This hostess was out of control and needs some major retraining or to be out of the service or customer service industry entirely. It's a restaurant! We came to enjoy ourselves not be "schooled" by some young hostess who singlehandedly ruined the...
Read moreCrowded on a Friday rainy day! It must be good. Good thing I had reservations and was able to get same day booking!
This restaurant is directly across the street from beach from Beach Movie Bistro in the same plaza as Heritage beside Anytime Fitness.
The menu selections rotate a lot. They have many specials to offer, like for this visit it's soft shell crab, and salmon tartare.
For appetizer..That beef Carpaccio was OMG good! It was such a tease because sharing it with my husband it went quick! Love loved the eggsalad that came with it. Never did I think egg salad and Carpaccio would ever go together. The egg salad had truffle oil and a sprinkle of lava salt.
The shrimp and grits is a classic and it has been on the menu for over 10 years.. so I knew I wasn't going to pass off on having it. Let me tell you when I say that this is the best shrimp and grits IVE EVER had in my life. I AM NOT LIEING!! I felt guilty pleasure all over. Those grits though, it was infused with creamy goodness enriched with andouille sausage and red peppers. I never ate so slow in my life! Each bite was orgasmic and I needed to savor the flavor as it melted in my mouth...
I had to share with my husband because I felt so bad that he got a salmon dish, nothing compared to what I had.. our waiter zack had told us he had eaten the shrimp and grits for an entire month since he began working here. Everybody could rave about it!
Dessert was amazing as well. The skillet cookie and vanilla ice cream.. made me feel like a kid again, homey gooey goodness! i felt like comfort food to the max.. but more classy and refined for a casual date night, business dinner, or special occasion.
This visit and dinner was my highlight of the day! The best dinner I've had in a while!
Wine was fantastic(you won't regret buying a bottle) with quality wine and reasonable prices that beat the competitors; this is a place to go.. Must go on happy hour from 4-6pm next time.
5 stars to the A+ service, food, taste and overall experience!
Zach was a helpful, insightful waiter and Jessica was a great host/personal photographer. Thanks Eurasia, you made my 8th year anniversary...
Read moreI have been to Eurasia several times with family, and most recently I attended their Service Industry Night. My partner and I, who both are service industry, love to frequent SIN's in the area (Eat: An American Bistro, The Atlantic on Pacific) and this was our first night taking him to Eurasia. We both work in the area at a 4 Diamond restaurant and I would always suggest Eurasia for their Oyster Sunday events and their Happy Hour to guests, and suggested we go at some point. We informed our server (we never got her name) after we were seating during our reservation, that we were there for their SIN, and inquired what was included on their menu. She explained the parameters of the menu, and requested both of our proof of employment. At most SIN's in the area, they request during your dining experience to show proof of employment, but every time the server merely asks where you are employed, and may ask general questions (How do you enjoy working there? I've never been there, what would you suggest getting?). I have also taken my parents to several SIN's in the area, where our entire bill is discounted. I understand Eurasia can establish whatever rules they desire for their SIN, perhaps outline the parameters more on your website (ie: every patron must bring proof of employment). I mentioned that I was ready to pay the full tab, but perhaps she could inquire more to other staff/management about how it is handled in the future (she admitted that it was her first Monday serving). The food was good, my partner said his chicken was moist, but a bit bland. Our server took our appetizer away while I was still eating it. The server assistant (she has glasses, I believe blonde) was excellent and polite. It was a shame we rarely saw our server, she asked us how everything looked before we ate, (no 2 minute, 2 bite rule). I used to really enjoy Eurasia, but that night it felt like we were nickel and dimed, or that because we were there for SIN we were less important. SIN is for those in the area to experience restaurants that they may not usually attend, and allow service industry workers to suggest those places to their...
