First off, Jamie is a Superstar. From the second we walked in she was on the case, she also had a second party to host next to ours and did a stellar Job. If corporate wanted a training on a Chuck E Cheese party host, Jamie should be the example. World class service and she engaged with the kids, both my wife and I, even with our guest parents.
I have been to countless Chuck E Cheese birthdays at several locations and this was the second we have thrown for one of our children. I went in with a fairly lowset precedent and I thought I knew what I was in for, man was I wrong.
We arrived a bit early and we had to wait as the outgoing parties were wrapping up and the party room was being turned, someone immediately appeared and offered to take our ice cream cake to the freezer.(this was an issue last year at another location) The wait was significantly shorter than I have experienced.
We were in settled, Jamie reviewed our order and got to business. The GM Tim then introduced himself and apologized for the wait, and handed me a credit for a future visit. I was taken aback from that alone and the bar was raised.
The entire party was just smooth, from the structure of the timeline and the delivery of our food, which again they apologized for the wait, and it was perfect timing, We never had to go find a member of our party the structure just works fantastically. Jamie was simply on point, got our cake from the freezer put the candles on for us.
In the game room and general food areas, other staff were not only present, but they were engaging and professional, I have never seen this in any Chuck E Cheese. The game room was a bit more crowded for its floorplan than most locations I have been to, but the employees were there refilling tickets into machines, helping to guide kids, patiently, " no running please, always remember to take turns”
Jose, another party host caught my attention a few times from the other side of the room, he seemed super fun and engaging, when my 3 year old birthday girl followed the costume Chuck over to his party, he greeted her by name, let her get her hug in and skillfully guided her away as to not disturb his party’s turn. It was fantastic and the fact he knew her name and was hosting 2-3 parties of his own at the time.
Tim, Jamie and Jose are superstars and they should be proud. I hope that they and the entire staff are commended and are deserving of a location of the year for all of the 7 locations from Richmond to Virginia Beach. I have been to them all and this was night and day from any experience I...
Read moreI just want to give a special shout out to the staff at the Chuck E Cheese location in VA BEACH and the managers Juan and Joey... They are ALWAYS going above and beyond for myself and my son. Also, one of the things among many things that stands out to me is how kind they are with their colleagues.. They provide a very fun and welcoming working environment for them which I think is EXTREMELY important especially considering weekends can get VERY busy and hectic... Even though they provide a very fun and welcoming working environment for their colleagues I KNOW based on actions that they make their expectations clear because when I observe the other staff members who management oversees they are always going above and beyond too which creates balance... In my opinion when managers create BALANCE and there is positive MORALE for their employees it goes a longggg way AND that's how you keep your most VALUABLE employees.. No matter how busy and hectic it gets every single time when I come here the way they conduct themselves is nothing less than SUPBERB... Also, I have noticed that every time I come here often times parents sit while their child(ren) runs and wanders and break rules in the trampoline area rather than keeping a closer eye on them and it puts the staff members and management in a position to have to enforce the rules frequently and they do an excellent job even on their most busiest days.. We travel at least an hour away when there is no traffic and when there is traffic sometimes it takes us a couple hours. As a result of their top of the notch professionalism, kindness, and the value they continue to provide for myself and child is why we keep coming back as their most loyal customers.. As a single BLACK mother who solely provides for her child and household I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.. THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU JOEY, JUAN, AND ALL OF THE VIRGINIA BEACH STAFF FOR ALL THAT YOU CONTINUE TO DO FOR NOT ONLY YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS BUT...
Read moreExtremely disappointed by my birthday parties yesterday. First I arrived to find only 1 of my children's parties set up. After confirming 3 times in the prior week that I indeed had 2 parties booked at the same time, with two different children's names, they still thought I had mistakenly double booked online. I was expecting 30+ children, they gave me one party host. After reminding them that I specifically requested 2 hosts, one of the managers in blue shirts came over to speak with the party host and myself. She insisted that she could handle the two tables on her own. After the candles and show, she started cutting cake and handing it out, I then realized in horror that only one table was being served, so I ran up and started serving cake myself to the other table. After everyone was done with cake and had started to leave to play again, up she walks with the ice cream that I had brought. I looked at her and said " well now that everyone is done with cake, I don't know if they want any ice cream, let me go find out" ( mind you I reminded her I brought ice cream when she came to tell me that it was cake time) The HOST THEN RAN AWAY CRYING, leaving me to serve all the guests at two tables ALONE. Unbelievable! The manager came over approx 15 min later with the party hostess to see if " there was anything she could do" saying that the host thought i was upset and being rude. HA! After the party was over a manager in a black shirt came up and brought me the bill, again making excuses that they offered me a 2nd party host during the party, I was rude, etc etc. I ended up only having 20 or so kids and the host couldn't even handle that on her own. I was/ am not happy at all and to top it off, they didn't even offer to give a discount or any form of compensation for the incompetence of the staff there. I will NEVER have another party at Chuck E. Cheese and will tell everyone of...
