Grammy Karaoke Korean BBQ — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

From the outside looking in, anyone could assume that what is before them is a simple establishment serving the public under the general standards of food service. You think "good for them that the business is managing to survive a pandemic."

I do emphasize simplicity with the design and personality of restaurants because those like Grammy that pass over luxurious features tend to keep the flare with soft decor that provides a warm, and comfortable atmosphere. The opposing side is a representation of extravagance in business that is flashy and otherwise catering to the overindulgent.

As for this Grammy, as you walk in you'll hear a sincere greeting with a host ready to escort you to a fresh table in a dinning room that shares Korean culture accompanied with a splash of KPop music and videos displayed on a projector screen. While combining service with entertainment you can take in a pleasing dinning experience.

After a warm meal (that you may have been given the option to cook yourself at your own table), a cool beverage or a fine mix from the bar, and being marinated in a relaxing and attractive atmosphere; you grow curious of the off key vocals that occasionally make it to your table. It sounds fun, enticing, and when you ask about the karaoke you'll be glad to not have ended your journey with a fantastic meal surrounded by excellent, friendly staff.

I have been to this restaurant more times than needed to finally write an honest review. Today they really delivered better than expected service and food, so I cant argue anything less than a 5 star review given everything I have provided so far.

Myself included with a total party of five people came into the restaurant and graciously seated just before ordering our cool drinks to start things off. The server returned to ask us our order to which our designated order person requested a menu item thinking that we were ordering something different. The server repeated everything and we all agreed.

This was in no way the servers fault, it was a simple mistake on the customer end. Stuff happens but usually we have to own up and eat the cost. In this case, the meal arrived to the table and the two more knowledgeable persons of my party noticed that it wasn't what we thought we ordered. So we conversed and checked the menu and discovered that we had ordered the wrong item.

We inquired with the staff about the issue and tried to make it clear that we did in fact oder the wrong item. Now the issue with the item is that some were looking forward to the expected cuisine vs what was actually ordered.

In the end, what I assume was the manager, asked questions about the food we ordered to which we answered honestly. We simply ordered the wrong item and we wanted to see if it was exchangeable. The gentleman explained to us that they couldn't take the food back because what was ordered was provided and the server made sure to repeat the order back.

We were understanding of the situation and we figured that it didn't hurt to ask. No matter the outcome we were prepared. Nevertheless the staff decided to show their understanding and comped us by charging us the price of the other menu item which was significantly cheaper. The price really wasn't an issue, to show our thanks for a good deed we tipped 50%.

From the inside looking out, you can appreciate the pleasing aesthetic of a dinning room complimented by staff striving to provide a service that makes a difference to its consumer base. When you leave, whatever is beyond the exit, you are ready to face it.

Last night 09/30/23 I had my party here. I was extremely dissatisfied and disappointed by the service and the compensation that was given to me for everything that happened. I got to this establishment at 7 pm to decorate, which was really cool, but it went downhill after that. So everyone of my party arrives, but no one showed us how to work the machine for the karaoke. Then there's a call button on the wall which was being responded to when we got there at 7 pm to decorate, but I assume was ignored the duration of the night after that. I must have pushed that button 12 times. We got started at 7:45 pm with the karaoke after figuring it out ourselves. We went without drinks or food orders for the next hour. They had brought 4 pitchers of water before my guests got there. They were never filled after that. I ordered a diet coke and that was only filled 1 time. So, we must've went out searching for waiters 5+ times, we even rang the call button yet to my dismay no one came until the manager came when I finally spotted him and he came in with us finally to take our orders. This was after an hour of waiting for someone, or any one of the servers. I was getting upset because the time on the party starts ticking at the time you requested the room for. So 7:30 pm would have been the start time. It was now 8:40 when the manager on duty came in to take our orders. Another 30 minutes went by and a server comes in and tells us that they are starting our food. STARTING the food... not bringing it out. The times ticking so by now it's past 9 pm, and my room was only rented for 2 hours, so 9:30 would have been the cutoff mark. They assured me that they would compensate for the time missed while we were waiting for a server. But they didn't say ANYTHING about the time we waiting for our food too. As the party was winding down everything else went okay. They had a remote control for the fans above us, but they carried it around with them. So we couldn't light the candles on my cake properly either. I and my friends will not come back to this establishment I can't truly speak for everyone but I know I definitely would not come back until something changes. The parking was also garbage. I was only compensate for 40 minutes. They charged me over $200 dollars for the room rental even though the party was made extra stressful by the situations going on. I know it's at least something that they gave me a 40 minute discount, but when you're that messy and disorganized and set a negative mood for the party then something else needs to be done. I've work in retail and some food work in my life and you always treat the customer with value, because word of mouth and such can help you or harm you. The private karaoke rooms were impeccably maintained and equipped with state-of-the-art sound systems, ensuring that our voices harmonized beautifully with the instrumental tracks. The sound quality was excellent, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the music and belt out our favorite tunes with confidence.

The overall atmosphere was lively and energetic, with other groups of guests enjoying their own karaoke sessions. The rooms provided ample space for our group, and we appreciated the comfortable seating arrangements and stylish decor.

I highly recommend this karaoke establishment to anyone seeking a memorable and enjoyable night out. It's an ideal place to let loose, sing your heart out, and create lasting memories with friends. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
