One thing to keep in mind when you plan to visit here is that the food is cooked to order. Some orders can take up to 30 minutes but the end result was delicious.
During my initial visit, there was a grand opening promotion for buy one whole chicken, get one free. You are only allowed to select one flavor for the whole chicken and it does not come with any sides. Although I had planned to order wings, I thought it was a really good bargain and added some curly fries to the order. The order of fries is enough to share.
I requested one flavor of curry and the other soy garlic. The soy garlic was spicier than anticipated and the curry had a good flavor profile. Radishes are provided with your chicken order to help soothe your palate if the spice level is overwhelming. I definitely had enough for leftovers and used my air fryer to reheat and the texture and flavor were just as good as day one.
Now the fun part. I don't make it habit to look on the side of the box but here, there are recommendations to keep refrigerated and consume within 24 hours of purchase. My coworker has visited here and he had some intestinal challenges after eating it beyond 24 hours but those in my household were fine.
I've actually been to Korea and can say that the chicken here is more saucier for flavor but that's not a bad thing. It does taste authentic and I do recommend getting out of your comfort zone and trying something on the menu you've never had.
There are multiple televisions and when safe to do so, seating that supports dining in. There is no space for outdoor dining as the area is in a location with ample but shared parking.
A tasty addition to the coastal VA area and a different approach to how chicken is prepared. In the future, they plan to do promotions via text message...
Read moreLet's talk abt it. I'll start with that fact that the lady up front? Amazing. Kind, friendly, PATIENCE abounds. She was the only one taking orders, packing orders, answering calls, ringing customers. And all this while there's a continuous line of ppl who had placed phone orders, or online order, or delivery app drivers during SUPERBOWL. So first, do NOT go or order for pickup if its a holiday. They were clearly short staffed and they didn't have a system in place for various ppl coming in. I waited in line for over an hour before I even got to the front and I'd placed an order, but lots of ppl would just go to the front and inquire abt orders. I placed mine at 5pm right before leaving work and was told 45min wait. So I took my time driving there and still had abt 15-20min wait, so I stayed in line bc there were lots of ppl already there waiting, plus the long line ahead of me. Unfortunately, bc of the lack of help she had and lack of system to regulate who is helped first and to differentiate pickups from delivery I believe there were quite a few ppl who got their food before me who placed orders after mine. I ended up waiting for just under 2hrs for a spicy wing and curly fries. Patience was on my side this night and luckily my bloody sugar didn't crash while waiting bc I hadn't eaten much that day. So yeah, unless you wanna get your food right when they order, wait until after a holiday or big event. Second, kinda bummed in the taste. It wasn't bad, just not as good as I'd hoped considering all I'd heard. I prefer the flavour of Domoishi spicy Korean wings. And the curly fries had no flavour to them. Portions were great and wings huge though thats a plus. I have plenty leftover to the next day. I'll give them another try, on a...
Read moreVisiting this place was a wonderful experience. I called to make sure they were allowing for dine in and the lady who answered was so friendly. We got there and the food and service was excellent.
The Red Hot chicken is so spicy and it just makes me respect this place for having a sauce option that is really hot like that. Almost all restaurants don't even come close to the potency of the gochujang. The crispness of the chicken is amazing. It looked like it was made out of ceramic when it came to the table.
If spicy isn't your thing, that is okay too, the soy garlic is great, we tried the curry sauce as well on some chicken tenders that weren't fried a 2nd time, like some of the other offerings, but finished in a charcoal oven instead and they had a great flavor and texture.
Calamari rings were tasty and big like onion rings.
Wonderful beverage options. The Grape and Grapefruit iCing rice wine had a very subtle carbonation, refreshing fruit flavor all the way through, and isn't too high in calories or alcohol. I want like 50 of these.
The fries were exceptional. The dumplings were so crispy and the chicken and vegetables were fresh inside. That pretty much covers all the food we ordered. If you do get takeout, everything is served in its own nice sturdy box. I really liked that.
The lady who served us was so nice and wholesome. Extremely rare to have someone who is so genuine, compassionatw, and generous. The food was really good, the place is professional, but I feel like I'm at my aunties house at the same time.
They have great deals as well for lunch and for...
