OMEGA BAR — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

So usually I don't post about anything but after what happened last night I figured I should.

This bar has some real problems. The first was how slippery the floor is. My fiancé slipped multiple times. Mind you there was nobody dancing at the time so it wasn't like someone had just spilled a drink. The floor was slick making it nearly impossible for her to dance in heels. She literally went home to change her shoes because she felt so unsafe.

This leads me to the second problem, the service. After visibly slipping multiple times we thought eventually someone would come out and mop up the wet floor, but they didn't. Eventually I brought it up with the bartender and she just gave me this dumb look like what is she going to do about it . Then she goes back to talking with the drunk guy who was flirting with her.

Another problem, just like every other bar is the music is super loud, nothing special, but here the speakers would cut in and out, the volume would change rapidly, and then they would rapidly change the doing - which isn't fun when you're dancing salsa/bachata.

If all of that wasn't enough the worst thing that happened was at closing time. Just like at every other bar, when a bar is closing they turn on the light and kick everyone out. I'm used to bouncers being aggressive because they have to deal with drunk people and they're obnoxious, I get it, but grabbing my fiancé's drink, slamming it to the ground and then grabbing her arm and shoving her across the entire bar is completely excessive. She wasn't making a scene or being aggressive nor were we taking our sweet time leaving.

Needless to say, never going back there again. Whoever runs that place needs to do a thorough quality check of the people...

Being that there are not a lot of Latino spots in this area there is not much to choose from. Music is pretty good, however it's ridiculously loud so you might want to wear ear plugs to cancel out a bit. Drinks are meh. Very small and you can only sit at tables (which they do not have a lot) unless you are VIP. Now as far as "VIP" goes when I tried to contact them numerous times on several social media platforms no response. Any questions we had we don't get answers and they don't post a lot. We've been several times and each time it's packed shoulder to shoulder which is frustrating because we actually like to dance not stand and look cute! Absolutely TERRIBLE club. The main attraction of a club is the music. Last night DJ atrévete was terrible. I used to DJ Latin music in London and Spain and I know what I am talking about. The music selection was terrible and the volume of the music so loud that the speakers were struggling making the music sound awful. Even the security guys were using earplugs. I would have left but the people that came with me wanted to stay. Staff was good. The rum and coke price was "acceptable" but it was pure gasoline. I suggest drinking beer.
