Disappointed and Overcharged | Don’t get SCAMMED.
I really wanted to like this place based on all the great reviews about food quality, generous portions, and affordability. Sadly, our experience didn’t reflect any of that, and I feel compelled to share why. Misleading Menu & Unavailable Items We visited expecting the dishes featured in photos and reviews on Google Maps, but none of them were available. When we showed the server what we had hoped to order, he said they were no longer offered due to new management. We settled for what was on their current menu since we were already there. Incorrect Pricing & Overcharging The items we ordered were listed on their own menu as $25 and $7.50, but we were charged $30 and $8.50. Even after my husband pointed this out to the staff, they still charged us the higher prices. No apology, no correction. This is misleading at best, and at worst, feels like intentional overcharging. Low Quality & Poor Value We ordered the #10 Beef and Oxtail pho. What we received was one large boney oxtail and one small piece with barely any meat…both were tough and not enjoyable. The broth was just okay. For $30, the portion was small and nowhere near worth the cost. I’ve had far better pho at a fraction of the price.
It’s disappointing that they appear to be riding on old reviews and outdated pricing while delivering an inferior experience. It feels like false advertising and a lack of transparency. We still paid and even tipped 10%, despite knowing we were being overcharged, because we don’t believe in stiffing servers. But this business practice is unethical and will catch up to them.
Bottom line: I DO NOT recommend this place under its current management. It’s just not worth it.
By the way, check out this location’s Yelp reviews in case you are questioning to go here… they have recent reviews of similar experiences to ours. Scammy/shady business practices and misleading pricing. Again, unfortunately I do “NOT”...
Read moreA great place if you want to try something that's not your typical Beef and Broccoli or Shrimp Lo Mein. This place serves a variety of spicy noodle dishes (you can ask for it to not be spicy) that come from Chongqing, China. A great place for a foodie, they offer many different selections. If you do like spicy, probably start at a level 2 and then next time you come back you can go higher if you want. I think 2 is already at that point where it has enough of a kick to make you sweat a little but still enjoy the meal. The spicy chili oil they create is excellent as it takes many ingredients and a bit of time to make. They also do a skewer offering of different meats, seafood, and vegetables. The staff are polite and professional. They are following current respiratory hygiene guidelines. Recommended. Update 11/26/2024: After a short renovation during the summer, looks like they are under new management and staff with a totally revamped menu. While they still have some American-Chinese dishes, this is still more for native Chinese dishes along with still being a foodie-level of things to try. They don't have the hot pot skewers though like the previous staff had. Still a good place to eat at, other than the selections...
Read moreI thoroughly enjoyed my Chongqing Small Noodles soup! The preparation appeared true to its roots...and not "Americanized" like 99% of the other Chinese restaurants found in Virginia Beach.

The soup base is typically prepared by stir-frying the chili peppers and spices in hot oil, infusing it with their flavors and creating a spicy and fragrant broth.
The noodles used in Chongqing Small Noodles soup are usually thin and wheat-based, cooked to a firm and chewy texture. The dish is often served with various toppings such as minced pork, soybean sprouts, green onions, and pickled vegetables.
