I was drawn to visit the Tropical Smoothie Cafe located at Haygood based on an email coupon offering a $1 discount for Watermelon Mojito Smoothie. The young cashier Justin E., was very polite. As I was placing my order I informed him of the $1-off coupon. He acknowledged me, and proceeded to ring up my order, I asked him if the $1 came off and he said no. At that point, he asked the Store Manager / Owner to assist him. However, at the same time, she (The Store Manager / Owner) was speaking with who it appeared to be a vendor. After Justin E. explained the situation, she felt compelled to make a comment to the vendor regarding her problem with the TSC APP, something to the effect of how problematic the APP discounts are to the business. At this point, she stated to me and the cashier that they could not get me the discount; to which I attempted to respond by suggesting how they could re-ring the order, however, before I could finish my sentence, she rudely interrupted me. She tried to convince me otherwise, rather than working with me as a paying customer. As such, I had to restate twice my suggestion on how to fix the problem, nonetheless, this lady was adamant about how she could not resolve this because allegedly this is a "third party" issue. In response, I even said to her that the ONLY reason I stopped at the store that day was that of the email discount offer, otherwise, I would have continued on my way home.
In closing, this is simple, all she had to do was either re-ring the order or take a $1 out of the register with the proper annotation. But not, she rather argues with the customer. In the end despite her obvious frustration to include her facial expression of antipathy was ever so evident. She may be a store manager or owner, but she sure is NO businesswoman. Suffice it to say, I do not recommend visiting this particular store, I love TSC and I will continue to pay patronage, just not here.
NOTE: The cashier, Justin E., was polite and showed very good manners. In my opinion, this situation is no reflection of his customer service skills; in fact, under the circumstance, Justin E. handled the situation very well and maybe the Store Manager / Owner can learn a thing or...
Read moreI just left this drive thru establishment. It was also my first job at 15. I was in line, and I had a tap on my window. I looked over and cracked it to ask what he needed. He then asked me if I was ordering or picking up. No tropical smoothie shirt, hat, nothing. I didn’t even know he worked there. So that was bizarre. I said I was here to order and he then pulled out a phone to take my order. I ordered my son a kids meal, the ham and cheese wrap with a lil limeberry. When I asked for the limeberry, the employee said back, “the blimey limey?” To which I just said back “I guess, but for kids.” So when I paid, I knew something was wrong when my order was almost $11 but I didn’t have a chance to even get that sorted before the window was closed and I had to wait for my buzzer to go off and go back to the window. So when I got back to the window and received my kids wrap and an adult smoothie, I mentioned that it wasn’t what I ordered. I ordered the lil limeberry. I ordered a kids meal. The meal. Which includes the kids smoothie. Not the wrap by itself and an adult smoothie that I called the kids smoothie name. He then said he would have to remake the smoothie but I said why? Just pour it into the kids cup. And he looked confused as if that was strange but did it anyway. I had my card in my hand to give to him for a refund of the difference, but he didn’t take it and gave me the cup and told me have a good day. So not only did I get screwed out of all of that, but it wasn’t even offered at all. The few dollars wasn’t important enough for me to then have to go inside when I am on my way somewhere with my son on a time crunch, but it could have been handled better and hopefully the employees gain a better sense of the names of items on the menu since that’s what they are...
Read moreI went to this location to place an order for 2 smoothies and a turkey sandwich. While ringing up my order I told the cashier exactly what I wanted and did not want on the sandwich and it was written on a sheet of paper also that I showed him while ordering . When I returned back to work I noticed there was bacon on the sandwich and I never ordered bacon. So I drove back to the haygood location to get the sandwich remade. A different crew member with long hair was at the register and I explained to him my situation. He told me they do not do remakes on food because they would lose money. I asked him may I get a refund on this sandwich and he told me they don’t do refunds on purchases either. I showed him my receipt and the paper that had the order on it and he proceeded to get rude and took the paper out of my hand and crumbled it up and threw it in the trash can and told me he could not do nothing for me and was being very ignorant. I asked can I be to the manager or someone higher than him cause his customer service was horrible. He told me he was the manager and there was no one else I could speak with. So I asked for the corporate number and what he gave me I’m sure was not the corporate number but his personal number . I visit tropical smoothie all the time and never encountered this type of rude...
