Unfortunately this shop may be good for food; however they are also doing wine business through the marketplace Vivino and they never shipped our items that were labeled as shipped via FedEx. They told the marketplace and us that the reason they didn’t ship it out (1 week later) was that they wanted to make sure we were ok with a replacement vintage since they didn’t have the one we ordered online. Not sure why they even created the shipped label with FedEx if it wasn’t shipped. This caused us to come home from work early on the supposed arrival date so that we would be able to sign for the package. They said they communicated to Vivino to contact us to see if we would accept a different wine; Vivino said there was no such communication, so they lied to them and us. Then they were to ship out the wines on 1/21 and we received communications from Yiannis that since it was a holiday it wouldn’t ship that day but it would go out on 1/22. However- we received yet another shipping link via FedEx from Vivino showing it was shipped and to be arriving 1/22. Also, FedEx fully runs operations on 1/21 (MLK day) so that was yet another lie. I told Yiannis at this point I’d let Vivino and my credit card handle this. Sure enough we never received our wines yet again on 1/22 and when asked, they said they cancelled the order. So this review is for anyone shopping on Vivino and showing this as the vendor. Just be aware.
EDIT/REPLY: Vivino was kind enough to agree that this vendor did not comply with policies and therefore shipped our wines from another vendor FREE of charge. There were no threats to Yiannis, simply upset customers as I'm sure most people would be after getting lied to, spending $200 and not getting the product or a direct answer. The only thing we said was that we would have our credit card company handle the issue and I'm assuming that is what they took as a threat. Vivino confirmed that Yiannis lied about communications to them; as they told us there were absolutely no communications made to Vivino from Yiannis in regards to our order, in their system. Glad the marketplace did the right thing (Vivino) and it's just sad that the...
Read moreOur first visit to Yianni's was for early dinner on 6/16/2022. We were greeted, and then guided to our table through a very welcoming and tasteful interior space. We were surprised to learn from our server, Nathan, that there were wine tastings taking place, as well as a self-serve option available. Nathan was pleasant, professional, knowledgeable, and attentive.Shortly after requesting some wine information, Joshua (sommelier), came to our table, and listened to our preferences (South African reds and Rhone blends). He returned with three different (new to us) bottles of wine, and we each selected a different bottle. We found his choices to be impeccable, as both wines were excellent. Our appetizers, Calamari and Beet salad were quite delicious. Yiannis visited our table with the authentic warmth of a true host. Although our entrees were amazing, there was a minor issue with my Filet Mignon. Nathan, Joshua and Yiannis gently insisted on "making it right." To our delight, they made it perfect, with sincerity and finesse. The Bread Pudding dessert was wonderful, and enough for 4-6 people! Our evening was one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time. We left feeling pleased and uplifted, satisfied with a full fine dining experience, and connected to the restaurant and staff. We made reservations for next week as we left. We completely recommend Yiannis' high quality cuisine, extensive wine list ( over 3,000 on site), and exceptional staff.
8-20-2022 We have returned more than once now, and the food quality, service, and the flavour combinations in every item continue to please. We tried the Tomahawk Steak for Two this week, very savoury, and with enjoyable sides. Again, Josh demonstrated an excellent ability to surprise us with new wine choices that acknowledge our taste preferences. Kudos to Chef Kevin again for his excellent, unique pairings, super-fresh food, and perfect presentations. We continue to highly recommend Yiannis for an excellent...
