YOMI JAPANESE HIBACHI & SUSHI — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

I had high hopes. My kids and I love hibachi. However, The food is very bland...not a lick of seasoning. The fried rice is far from fried. The customer service is horrible. I placed my order on Uber eats for pick up. In the notes it said to put the shrimp in separate plate. My son has a food allergy...but the chicken and shrimp meal was only $.30 more than the chicken meal. I picked up my food and instantly went to check it. The order was wrong. I very politely tell the man at the register that the notes said for it to separate the shrimp. He says we don't do that. I said...you don't read notes? He said we don't sepate food. He says you would have to call. I let him know that this is my first time ordering from here. I would not know that. he just looked at me like I was crazy....Until I said " My child has a food allergy and he can't eat shrimp." He then took the food hauled it into the trash. They re made the food but only chicken. I said I paid for shrimp also...He said we don't separate...I said yes, I know that now. However, I already paid for my food. He then is like I will refund you. I didn't want a refund I just wanted my shrimp. He finally said ok I'll put the shrimp on another plate. He placed 5 shrimp on the plate...All that hassle for 5 bland shrimp. Please don't...

My daughter put me on to this place I'm from New York so finding food that is great tasting and a lot of food for the price this hit 🎯🎯🎯🎯 ten out ten all the food is made with such 💕😘 and they do allow changes sum might have up charge but the bento box they don't make you take the sushi if you don't want it if you order online go to bottom of the screen put that in the comments..... The mom lady who works the register she is super sweet motherly type she seems like the most wonderful mom hugs from a stranger 🤗🤗🤗 I now come here 3 to 4 times a week I try everything I never get the same thing healthy food lots of veggies and rice 😋😋😋 the meat so good fresh 😋😁😋 I enjoy going inside just to see that mom lady if I'm far ill order online out of all the fast food at least this not going thru you its stick to your tummy my son works the ship yard i bring him a bento box he looks so happy i know for sure in this heat and work he's fed and full with sum left over sorry no punctuation but I truly love this place 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 thank you for making me happy and feel good...

I thought this was one of the best hibachi places for the price. I got the beef and chicken hibachi and my husband just got the chicken hibachi.

We placed the order online for pickup. If you order online, make sure you select vegetables if you want them. They don't automatically come with it and you have to select it yourself. I hadn't had to do that before, so I ended up with just rice and meat. Which was fine, I still enjoyed it. The yum yum sauce was good as well, but it is not included in the meal.

For people who don't really like teriyaki or the sweet glaze, you may want to include in the notes that you don't want the meat cooked with it. I prefer mine that way. The glaze was delicious. My husband? Didn't like it.

Overall, the experience was good. Just Pay attention if you're ordering...
