Having visited Jax Place only twice before I had gone on a Saturday with my son and girlfriend to play some pool, eat, drink and enjoy some time with them. We had been there about two hours and I still had a quarter on one of the tables and decided to not play any further as we were going to leave. As I retrieved the quarter I was approached by four men, three of which were verbally being very aggressive, before I could figure out why I was being cursed and yelled at they started shoving me backwards. My son told them to keep their hands off me and walked up to my side. This is when we both were attacked by these men and I was thrown into a table and the table thrown on top of my face. The end result was a split forehead requiring stitches, injured ribs, multiple bruises and cuts, etc. The owner being present didnāt call the police, nor did she call peri medics, she simply escorted us to the door and asked that we leave. I had to have my girlfriend take me to the emergency room and get treatment. Afterwards the owner Terry said she felt bad about the incident and promised to pay my medical co pays for my doctor bills, then after getting the police to investigate the people who assaulted me , she retracted her promise to help cover those expenses I had. You see, these men were regulars and friends of hers apparently as she admitted she knew them all and had there phone numberās but wouldnāt share that information with me. I believe there should be a reasonable expectation of safety for any consumer when going into a business, and most bars and restaurants will have a security person on staff to enforce that expectation and insure a customerās safety. This is not the case at Jax Place! You are on your own! The thing that upsets me the most about this horrific experience is that the owner continued to deny any responsibility whatsoever. She claimed she did nothing wrong. No calling of police or paramedics not keeping her word on assistance on the medical co-pays, not taking a defensive stand on my part whatsoever, and yet she still feels she did nothing wrong. All I can say is ⦠WOW! How wrong she is and how wrong she was! This type of incident shouldnāt happen to anyone! Especially when they have paid for service , food , etc. and are just trying to be peaceful patrons. In my opinion, Jax Place is a very dangerous roughneck bar with irresponsible owners who donāt truly care about their customers. Iām disgusted with the entire matter, and would not recommend anyone...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJax place is a true neighborhood bar. This place is geared towards the neighborhood sports fanatics. Entering the establishment you see a wall of Tv's tuned to sports. There are several more scattered throughout Jax's. It also featuring Dart boards, 4 or 5 small pool tables, 2 machines to gamble at and a digital wall jukebox and more. The Bartenders were friendly and on point, thank you Ladies. The ladies restroom is VERY small with only 2 small stalls and a sink with no mirror. However there is a long mirror on the side of the stall wall. The restroom door opens to block anyone in that is using the sink. And there were M&M's or skittles on the floor. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a couple of days, possibly because the candy was pressed to the floor with surrounding grime stuck to it. The food is good for typical bar food, nothing fancy here. The local scene that visits Jax's are friendly. Kinda like "CHEERS" Where everybody knows your name. The atmosphere is very very casual however it lacks ambiance. Bad bar lighting. Family friendly? I believe this place is not. Due to the yelling comments of male patrons that are sports fanatic with verbal opinions towards their sports team or the rival competition. Smoking is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSheesh what a dump. It all started when I walked in mid afternoon on the weekend just to be greeted by deadness...two golden girls shooting pool and two grumpy old men watching college sports...no bartender to be seen. I bellied up too the bar and waited...checked my watch...waited some more. Roughly a minute and a half elapsed before I was recognized. Upon taking my order I of course was ID. Now I will admit I was wrong I didn't have it so I had to walk back to the truck and grab it. Said those exact words to the lady. Came back quicker than the time it took to take my order with my ID in hand....and guess what the lady was gone...vanished. Again I belly up to the bar and I wait. I wait some more....then I keep on waiting. 5 minutes it took. Mind you, this place is absolutely dead except for the 4 souls who can easily account for 250 years of combined life experiences. Finally the bartender comes and takes my order. Never again. Never again. Jax can Jax off.
Sincerely a...
