A Hidden Gem in Brambleton – Intimate, Elevated, and Absolutely Delicious
My husband and I recently visited Ahso Restaurant in Ashburn (Brambleton) for a date night, and it was truly an amazing experience from start to finish. While the location itself isn’t large, it offers a cozy, intimate vibe that’s perfect for a relaxed yet elevated evening out. The service was warm and attentive, the wine selection was fantastic, and every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and creativity.
I opted for the 5-course pairing (without the wine tasting), and I genuinely loved every dish that came to the table. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and presented, showcasing both technique and bold flavor combinations. My husband went with a different entrée—the house-made linguine with duck tenders—and it was equally impressive. Rich, comforting, and beautifully executed.
We were pleasantly surprised with two chef’s tasting gifts during the meal: the first was a pork chorizo tartare served in a crispy chickpea cup, which was such a unique and delicious bite. The second was a refreshing and delightful house-made raspberry sherbet—a perfect little palate cleanser to end the night.
For my cocktail, I tried the "No THYM.E to Waste"—a cucumber- and gin-based drink with prosecco. It was light, crisp, and incredibly refreshing. A perfect match for the evening’s menu.
We made early reservations around 5:00 PM on a Saturday, and by the time we were wrapping up around 6:30, the restaurant was already filling up fast. So if you're planning a visit (which you absolutely should), I highly recommend making a reservation.
Overall, AhSo is a true hidden gem in Brambleton. Whether you're celebrating something special or just want an unforgettable night out, this place delivers on all fronts—ambience, service, creativity, and flavor. We’re already looking forward to...
Read moreOn a Friday evening, my friend Emerson and I dined at AhSo Restaurant, a New American Restaurant in Brambleton, to his birthday. This restaurant has specials on select nights. Monday is Ramen Night, Tuesday is Live Music Night, Wednesday is Burger Night, Thursday is Themed Night, and Sunday is Fried Chicken Night.
Our server Mo (short for Mohammad) was attentive, ensuring we were having a good time and had everything we wanted.
For drinks, Emerson enjoyed ACE Guava Cider while I enjoyed the O.G. cocktail, which was an Old Fashioned made with Elijah Craig Bourbon, Maple, Angostura, Marinated Orange, and Brandied Cherries.
For appetizers, we shared the Fried Squash Blossoms and Charcuterie & Cheese Board. The Fried Squash Blossoms consisted of two crispy fried squash blossoms stuffed with lemon scented ricotta and chevre served in an arugula sunflower pesto. The flavors were rather light and delicate. The Charcuterie & Cheese Board consisted of american farmstead cheeses (including Brie and Sharp Cheddar), artisan cured meats (including House Made Salami and Prosciutto), pickled onions, apple cinnamon compote, and grilled bread.
For dinner, Emerson enjoyed a Local Burger, which wasn't on the menu. This Local Burger consisted of a juicy beef patty, topped with lettuce, tomato, avocado, pimento cheese, house smoked pork belly, Dijon aioli and white cheddar on toasted bun. It was served with vinaigrette dressed green salad and crispy smoked paprika seasoned rustic potatoes. I devoured the Miso Marinated Ocean Trout served over egg fried rice and sesame blistered green beans. The fish was cooked to perfection and had a crispy skin.
For dessert, I had the Miso Caramel Pot de Creme topped with vanilla whip and garnished with caramelized rice crispies. It was a bit too sweet for me but every bite was...
Read moreHORRIBLE!!! If I could give negative stars I would. From the moment we arrived, things were a mess. We asked to sit outside — only to be told the umbrella was broken. So we sat inside... and immediately noticed we were the only ones there. That should’ve been the first red flag. If a place is completely empty during peak hours on a Saturday, there’s probably a reason.
Then they brought out a high chair for my child that was absolutely disgusting. Caked-on food, grime — clearly hadn’t been cleaned in ages. How is that even acceptable in a restaurant?
I’m vegetarian, so I’m used to limited options, but this place had one vegetarian dish. Fine, I can work with that. I asked if they could make one of the cocktails into a mocktail. The answer? A flat-out NO. In 2025, most coffee shops can whip up a mocktail — but apparently not here. RIDICULOUS.
I ordered the prix fixe menu, which comes with a yogurt parfait and a bread basket as the starter. The waitress goes we don’t have the bread basket - but they could do just the yogurt. Mhmm ok so I asked if she could swap the missing bread basket for the Brie dip (one of only two other starters on the menu). She said sure.
Then she came back: “Actually, my manager said you can’t substitute the bread basket with the Brie unless you pay extra. Or you can do the Brie and skip the bread and yogurt.”
Excuse me?? They were out of the bread — and instead of making it right, they wanted to nickel-and-dime me over it? It’s not even about the extra cost — it’s the complete lack of hospitality, flexibility, and common sense.
At this point we said forget it and walked out!
I have NEVER in my life encountered a restaurant that treats customers this poorly or is so inflexible and stingy. Save your time, your money, and your patience. DO....
