I've had plenty of bad restaurant/ dining experiences but this experience was the worst out of my 30 years on this planet. It was my first time going to this place and boy do we all regret it. My husband, myself and my two sisters decided let's try this place out at the first server who got our drinks was nice, we weren't ready so she was giving us time, when we were ready a different girl took our order she was also nice. While we were waiting for our food a gentleman server came over to see if we were ok with our order we have yet to receive, we thought to ourselves it was a little odd. When our food came out was a different server who had given my sister the wrong order forgetting to bring us our condiments we specifically asked for while placing the order to ensure they would arrive with our food. As I attempted to ask for my side of mayo the server just scurried off not even listening. A good while later the one who took our order came over because my sister still had no food and all of us were still waiting with our now cold food for condiments she goes to grab the things we needed, finally able to start eating. As I go to each for a fry there is a Male hair in my food root and all (my husband has a shaved head so definitely not his) I was off put by this but since it was only on one fry I just put it off to the side and ate my really cold food at this point. We ate and each time we needed a drink or anything it was never the same person. Food wasn't the best nothing special, some servers were nice but there was no continuity and just confusion with them bouncing all over their methods on serving were pointless. Now let's get to checking out we split our bill in two "the manager" was handling that and couldn't figure out how to fix how we were being over charged for my sister's food that they messed up originally. "The manager" was not professional he was not trained clearly, I'm honestly not even sure how he got to said position. My back story I have managed multiple customer service jobs so I have experience when it comes to knowing what should be expected of that position. I have also been a server in multiple dinners and restaurants and I have worked in a few who have done the "all servers per customer thing" but if not since properly instead of a functioning clog it becomes mass chaos and that is exactly what I...
Read more“Shockingly . . . Average” is what we thought after trying Bob and Edith’s for the first time today.
Service: Service was fine, albeit we had four different servers come to us throughout the meal. Not a bad thing, just different. There seemed to be a large number of workers flying around the restaurant - all lovely folk, but working in what seemed to be a disorganized fashion. Nevertheless, this did not negatively affect our experience.
Location: The location is ideal. It’s near many neighborhoods and gives that neighborly diner vibe. Restaurant was mostly clean and the decor was appropriate. Even the classic jukebox, with a 21st century style, made its appearance.
Food: The main attraction, the food, sadly did not shine in the spotlight. The breakfast menu seemed to be a large list of combinations with the same 6 ingredients, cheese being the most common ingredient. I had an veggie omelette with home fries that came at a small portion. The ingredients seemed well picked and not canned. However, the amount of oil used to make the omelette overpowered the plate to the point that some squirted in my face when cutting in. The home fries were simply home fries with no new taste. I did not receive the toast and jam that was listed for the meal, but I also did not care much to remind the servers. My boyfriend had the whole grain hot cakes with a side of scrambled eggs. That meal was much better proportioned but too did not have a fantastic or new taste. Just, hot cakes. And eggs.
Price: For the omelette, I would say it was overpriced at $10 for the little food I received. The hot cakes won at a $7 price point with the amount it had. I would think then that it depended on what meal you chose to see how much you were willing to pay. In my experience, it was too much.
Bottom Line: If you were not up to making breakfast at home and wanted to pay someone, you can come here - it would just be the exact same taste as if you made it. I would highly suggest taking the extra time to go to old town where there are many exciting breakfast locations with more accurate prices and delicious culinary...
Read moreI picked up the order and the food itself was fine, except that the dinner roll was missing and the steak I ordered medium-rare was cooked well-done. But what really ruined the experience was the attitude of one employee. It was an extremely unpleasant experience.
I had intended to place my order with the Columbia Pike location, but after placing it through the website, I immediately realized the order had gone to this location instead. I called right away to explain the situation and asked to cancel. The young woman who answered the phone kept repeating the same questions, sounded very curt, and spoke to me as if she were angry. The call itself lasted longer than the time between my order and when I phoned—which would have been more than enough time for her to check and cancel it. Eventually, she asked which items I wanted canceled. I told her to cancel the entire order, but she said it wasn’t possible because it was already being made. So why did she even ask me which items I wanted canceled in the first place?
Since it was ultimately my mistake, I decided to drive to pick it up anyway. At the counter, the same young woman who appeared to be the one who had answered my call was there. When I said I was there for pickup, she didn’t greet me, didn’t say a word, never responded, and just glared at me from head to toe. She kept GLARING AT ME THE ENTIRE TIME I was in the store—even as I left and drove away.
Thankfully, another staff member was kind, so I was able to let them know I was there for pickup and received my order.
But I still can’t understand why that employee treated me so rudely from start to finish. I wasn’t repeatedly insisting on a cancellation; I simply explained the mistake once. When she told me it wasn’t possible, I accepted it right away and didn’t push further.
Maybe she was just annoyed that she had to answer the phone and saw it as extra work🤷🏻♀️. From the very first call, she had no manners at all and disrespectful with a very curt tone and her attitude left me feeling extremely...
