My daughter and her boyfriend insisted that I find this place and try it out. So my wife and I drove from McLean and find what looks like a red caboose. After eating our food (there is no place to sit) I feel like I found a hidden gem, a true Mom and Pop place! Here is why I was impressed: 1) RICE: Instead of forcing me to load up on rice at the start, the man asked "Do you want any rice?" and I said just a little bit and he gave me a just little bit. When I do the same routine a Chipotle (ask for a little) they ALWAYS give me a full serving of rice. 2) MEAT: Wow they really load you up! At Chipotle they only give you a spoonful (and act like they went for a second spoon but it isn't anything). 3) WEIGHT and SIZE. What you get speaks for itself.... You don't feel ripped off...And are thinking there is no way I am going to eat this thing. It is one big burrito! My wife got the bowl instead of the burrito and that was equally heavy. Don't just take my word, go try it and see if you agree. My daughter said that Pedro and Vinny's has been in business for about 20 years. And that they don't use anything canned and everything is fresh. I just wish there was a place closer to...
Read moreDo not let the fact that is located essentially in a CVS parking lot be a deterrent. Only carry out options with few seats outside for warmer day dining. Family owned and operated for roughly a dozen years so one can feel good eating and supporting a local small business. Do not expect to get in and out quickly as food made to your specifications and with care. First time here so wanted to try multiple menu items which is what typically do when going somewhere new. Ordered taco, burrito and quesadilla. Burrito was highlight and is healthy portion. Have roughly half dozen tortilla options which provides nice variety to choose from. Fed "3" for ~$30 as prices were quite competitive. Asked family member working how business was with pandemic and he said they were still fairly steady as never had to close down due to exclusivity providing carry out with lunch and dinner times proving busiest. We came right before close with a couple ahead of us and two others waiting behind us outdoors. Not a lot of room indoors so be sure to dress warmly as temp drops as possibility of having to wait outdoors to order due to present pandemic capacity...
Read morePedro & Vinny's burrito shack has adorned the Columbia Pike skyline for quite some time and for good reason. A fresh coat of paint may have been added over the years but the quality of the burritos and burrito bowls has maintained the high degree that's made this joint a local winner. Hungry for a burrito or salad? Ignore that Chipotle urge and waltz into this local dive for a treat.
Meats are cooked fresh everyday, and your olfactory senses will be assaulted the moment you step out of your car in the parking lot. The shack itself may seem a little daunting due to its ramshackle appearance, but ignore that fear and commit! The marinaded steak and chicken mix wonderfully with all-fresh veggie ingredients.
Plus, Pedro & Vinny's make their own salsa and hot sauce and DAMN IS IT HOT. Interesting combination of flavors from their hickory tomato sauce (YOW!) to their mango habanero sauce (TRIPLE YOW!). They're very generous with the sauce pours, so be judicious in your instructions if you don't like a lot of hot sauce on your food. Either way, thou...
