Do not deserve any star! This morning, I visited the Bangkok 54 market with my small Medical dog. I was hoping for a quick visit, but unfortunately, I encountered an individual who claimed to be the owner, although he seemed more like an employee. He rudely demanded that I leave and chase me away from the store as soon as he saw my dog, treating me as if I were worthless and in filth. Despite explaining that I just needed to grab one item quickly, he refused and forced me out. It's beyond me as to why at this point I was even considering buying anything from this store. When I mentioned that my dog is a service animal, he dismissed it due to its size, and said it isn't. His arrogant, nastiness, stupidity, evil mindset and lack of knowledge, probably regarded service dog are meant only for the blind or a deaf person. Our interaction escalated into a heated argument, resulting in a shelf being knocked over while I was leaving. He charged towards me and made a threatening move as though to punch or hit me but backed off when I mentioned legal action. It was clear that this man had no regard for customers and especially animals, displaying a lack of compassion and disrespect towards me and my dog as though it was a filthy and disgusting animal. He forbade me from returning, which I have no intention of doing so! Reflecting on my previous visits, I realized that the staffs at this market regardless of age and gender, have always been snotty, unfriendly and disrespectful. After reading other review, I discovered that I was not alone in experiencing their rudeness and hostility. I regretted for not involving the authorities and should had call the police when the situation escalated, as I have all the necessary documentation to prove my dog's status and that it is against the law to forbade or denied service dog from entry. Despite my decision to never return to this establishment, I feel compelled to warn others about the mistreatment they may encounter. Other reviews also stated that they had found bed bugs in their plastic bags and as well an outdated unsanitary prepared food at this filthy market. One day I hope someone will put these people in their place with legal actions for their wrong doing. I am still looking into finding the actual owners of this business. Duangrat Thai Restaurant is much better than this place and had been around for a very, very long time. Eden market in Falls Church and other Thai market are as well much better places to shop for Asian food and definitely have better sanitary practices than...
Read moreThis is a filthy Thai market that sells food that violates food safety. They leave chicken soup and meat on the tables, which require refrigeration. They even changed the labels of expired, ready-to-eat food. I saw many vendors who cook food and make deserts in their home kitchens and bring their food to sell on the cold shelves. These vendors made food that was maybe 3 days old and put it in hot cars. Food already has bacteria built up. They put sugar in all their food and drinks. Oh! MSG causes headaches, brain tumors, and many more.
Two men mentioned the rude Thai B8tches! Yes, it is true. Two 20-year-old Tomboy girls are raised to be rude and disrespect customers and elders. In fact, I went there this afternoon. I noticed two young women were harassing an older woman. They verbally attacked her. The old lady ordered soup. One girl approached her and identified herself as a manager. She pointed a phone at her. "This is you. Right!" I remembered you. You came here and had a fight with the manager." It went on and on. Then another girl got into it. They surrounded the old lady. I should have taken a video. One day, this place would have violence. Someone should sue these filthy rich owners of many groceries and restaurants in Arlington. They are THAI BILLIONAIRS, who are lacked of professionalism and ethics. They only focus on making money. They don't care about customer service. They have the attitude that, "We are the only Thai grocery in this area. No one can complete with them.
These two young Thai B-T-H--S would run into the legal trouble soon. If you look for a DEEP POCKET and you are a lawyer, this is the easy shop to make money. Take them to court and get $$$ from their many restaurants...
Read moreUpdate: same excellent rating. Same good authentic Thai food. Owner updating premises to expand and modernize luncheonette area. Very nice design and easy payment. Better seating for a quick lunch now for those who do their grocery shopping. (although having lived in Thailand for a few years seating is never a problem for Thais). Hot Thai soup options are great for cold winter warming.
Many authentic Thai and Asian products, fresh or frozen ingredients and produce available. Best part of their assortment are the Meals Ready To Eat (MRE). Looking for a particular ingredient for your special Thai dish, they have it; can’t find it, just ask. Staff is always helpful. And if you can’t wait until you get home they have a great sit down food menu…a bit limited but they have the key Thai comfort food and Bubble Tea. Can’t go...
