The empanadas themselves are delicious. The flavor combinations are awesome and the two dipping sauces are also great. The horchatta iced latte was a perfect pick me up to go with the empanadas. The ice cream bars are fun. I think they are the same company, Fantasticks, that had a pop up location in Arlington, which was also awesome. The breakfast empanadas are great too! The staff are amazing...so kind and very approachable. The new look of the tables in the dining area is perfect for groups. Thank you!
This new empanada cafe on Columbia Pike is awesome! Parking is limited in the small parking lot to the side of the facility; so we parked just down the street. We were greeted warmly as soon as we entered and the staff walked us through the available menu items for that afternoon. The empanada filling options are plentiful and they do indeed stamp some of the dough with the name of the type of empanada, so it is easier to tell them apart before you bite into them. I tried the spicy pork, chorizo potato and chorizo bacon empanada combo meal with a bottle of lavender flavored kombucha. Everthing tasted great. We would have also tried their ice cream, but the line was pretty long when we finished our empanadas, so we decided we'll just have to come back. Thanks again for a great...

Upon entering, no one greeted us, and when we got to the counter, no information was offered. She just stood there and pushed the menu in front of us. Customer service definitely lacks here.
You order at the counter, where the available empanadas are listed on a laminated sheet. It was a bit disappointing as many empanadas were sold out, leaving us with a limited selection. We opted for the special: three empanadas and a drink. However, it turned out to be a choice of just four sodas, despite a full case of drinks being visible, which was confusing. There are no fountain drinks available.
We ordered a beef empanada, which had good flavor and nicely diced olives, avoiding big chunks. All empanadas come in a golden crust, stamped with the flavor for easy identification. The chorizo empanada was our least favorite, lacking in flavor. My husband really enjoyed the Old Bay shrimp empanada, which was packed with good flavor. My husband really enjoyed the green mild sauce that was served alongside the empanadas.
They offer a pitcher of water for customers who prefer that option. There's also a cute spot for a photo op, adding to the charm of this quaint little place. We would definitely return, hoping to try more flavors when they...
