Twice I bought steak and cheese with fries and a drink , comes to $11.64 just shy of $12.00. The second time around the bread was just short and not the true size which is not a good thing for a $12.00 steak n cheese. So at least one star must be deducted as it was not enough as it should gave been. I must say this is the second or third best steak n cheese I came across. The meat is done right at well done and fries are good , not laced with oil and actually a good thing. The food is tasty but how fresh or cleanly cooked is not visible to customers as most places it is clear to see how and where its made and how it is handled. It demands another star off leaving it with three then but I will let it slide by with 4 stars hoping that the owners will make amends and also make the cooking area visible to customers. I do not trust anyone when it comes to food ! I have to know the details and see if it went through a good clean process. Price is high on this and most other items but compared to burger king or McDonald meals and compared to Wawa steak n cheese I find it far better and least amount of grease. But Wawa price is $3.50 to almost $6.00 and large sweet tea , drink and fries comes out much cheaper. This whole deal should be no more than $10.00 even though it still sits at highest price in comparison to others but that sounds on fair side. The best steak and cheese you can eat is on route 3 in Fredericksburg VA called Sam's since 1980's . And no one can beat their quality and price. Try it you will love it better...
Read moreWhile booked at the nearby hotel. I walked over to order from this establishment. I ordered the tandoori chicken pizza and 8 piece hot wings. So to start fusion based foods are somewhat difficult to gauge as it is open to interpretation. But I have to draw from a previous experience of another restaurant who has the same fusion of tandoori chicken and pizza. In this case the tandoori is very subdued in flavor within the pizza. Having had a tandoori pizza that was robust with tandoori flavor within the pizza. This was seems to fall short of that mark. The pizza elements, bread sauce, were above average though. I can imagine they do a better job with traditional pizza recipes. On the other end I would say the wings were more of a seller for me. Although I would say for real heat you'd need to up a level because the hot wings weren't that hot. But the texture of the wings and flavor were good. It's not a sauce heavy wing. It's non-breaded and leans towards a dry hot wing which for me isn't bad. As it stands there is enough there to warrant trying other menu items to see what else they have. The restaurant was semi busy on arrival having several people ordering for pick up. So locals to the area must like what is...
Read moreChamps Pizza is located in Sterling. I came here because I wanted a hamburger and fries. I'm familiar with this restaurant and the food served here. The food isn't bad, and the service is decent; however, it is expensive, and the portions are not large. For the price I was expecting more. The food was made to order, but being served on paper plates and requiring a styrofoam cup kind of make think twice. Again, the food and the service are good, but the restaurant is dated, and narrow. The establishment isn't very big, but it could use a renovation. For example, my table was unstable, making it difficult to eat without thinking I'd spill my food and drink. When I plated my drink on it, I had to place it on an adjacent table. The proprietorship is good and pleasant, so I feel bad giving this review, but I don't mince words or pull punches in my reviews of places I visit, the food, the service and the works. Champs could be a rising star if the effort and investment were made to bring...
