I haven't been to Chuck E cheese in like 20 years or something since one of my elementary school chums had a birthday party there. Stepping in was kind of a different experience. It might vary locational location but this was way brighter and more open, feeling more like a general arcade. If I remember correctly, this one didn't have any huge ball pit jungle gym systems. They were tons of video game cabinets and arcade attractions, commonplace to any other arcade.
Well at my age, I came to reminisce and get some pizza which I heard was still pretty good as that was one of the highlights of Chuck E cheese's menu way back. Eating it, was great. It's not going to win any awards but I definitely enjoyed it. Got the supreme in medium. What I didn't enjoy was how outrageously overpriced it was. I don't know what size a medium is supposed to be as the menu did not specify, but I also didn't ask. However it was smaller than I expected, especially for the price. Would I eat the pizza again? Gladly. Would I pay it for the pizza again? No.
The establishment itself was as expected, noisy and chaotic. More chaotic than I remember as a kid, perhaps I was there at a high volume time. There were kids running everywhere, bumping into people, and I was finding myself crowded with other adults. The people at this location didn't seem to have much respect in the way of personal space, even for a crowded establishment. I'll also comment that Chuck E cheese has gotten rid of the animatronics, but I won't ding this specific location because of that change. Everything seems more virtual only on screens which is disconnecting and disheartening.
If I did have a kid today, would I bring them here? Maybe as a treat, but probably not for a party unless they really wanted it. Also note all the other food seemed...
Read moreI've been in this location tons of times, basically since I used to go with my nephews when they were younger, now that I'm a father I go with my toddler even more, the staff members are always very nice and friendly with my kid, we were worried when the pandemic started because they were closed for a little bit and my son was so sad, nowadays things have changed, to start, you have to wear a face mask, unless you are eating, at the door they dont stamp a number for you and the kiddos anymore, but they ask you to take a group selfie in order to keep the safety of the kids, the other day my phone was dead and I told them straight up I was not going to be able to take a selfie and they gave us like a numbered access ticket, lady was very nice and understood my situation, there is no more point tickets, now everything is counted and storaged in your chucke cheeses card, I really like this new method, I know probably some kids miss the ticket munchers, but I feel this new way it's even better, they removed some machines and the tubes where the kids used play, they added couple more arcades tho, chucke doesn't appear anymore giving away tickets-my son definitely misses that part-, staff might not be cleaning the arcades after every use, but they definitely have sanitizer for costumers to use and the restroom is open so we can wash our hands before eating something. Overall a bit different during covid times, but my son still loving this place, I really hope covid don't screw things up again so they can still in business for a...
Read more🔥🔥🔥 Awesome!!! I went by myself. As an adult male, I don’t always know how I’ll be received at Chuck E. Cheese going alone, it can be pretty nerve racking, especially when it’s my first visit to a particular location. This one in Alexandria, Va, made me feel so welcome, and they were very kind to me! One employee played a game with me and talked to me about new games and new menu offerings geared toward adults. The pizza I had was great, and I really liked the chicken wings. I had a few beers and played for around 3 hours. While I was playing a game, two little girls and a little boy asked me to help them defeat a high score. I helped them win, and they asked their parents if I could join their party and have some cake. I was happy to join the family and eat some cake with them; they even included me in some family pictures, hahaha, and I got to dance a little with them and dance with one of the little girls!! I wasn’t treated weirdly at all here; it was quite the opposite! My phone died; they helped me call my Uber and said please come visit again soon, with or without little kids, because they said I count as a big kid. ❤️ I highly recommend it, and if you enjoy Chuck E Cheese, don’t be afraid to go alone; you will meet very nice people and have...
