Classics Sandwiches & Subs — Restaurant in Virginia

Went for the first time on 6/2/23. Was pretty busy. Made a to go order. Ordered a Turkey club with just lettuce, tomato, and mustard. The cashier asked if I wanted bacon but didn’t clarify if I wanted cheese and since I named all of my items and DIDNT say cheese, I assumed he knew that I did NOT want cheese. Sandwich ended up having cheese and I really hate that. Went back in and told them order was wrong and wanted my sandwich remade. The lady, I’m assuming the manager and maybe owner did two things that should never happen: (1) she asked the cashier did I say no cheese or did he ring me wrong. (2) she asked me if I can just take the cheese off my sandwich myself. That is horrible customer service. The cashier was polite and pleasant and during a busy rush hour it’s easy to misunderstand something. And to ask me to just remove cheese from a sandwich which I paid $15 for (because I got a combo) is unacceptable. She even had the audacity to ask me if I was allergic to cheese. So my husband wanted a steak and cheese sub, which led me to Google. The search results cranked out a few places including Classics Sandwich and Subs. This place has held my interest for a while so I decided to go in and check it out. Its definitely a sub shop as it is reminiscent of Stuffy’s with the high counter and the menu boards. There are tons of cool photos of famous customers that cover the walls. There’s a dining room to eat in and they also have a outdoor patio area. The staff was super friendly and provided great customer service. I had a good time chatting it up with other customers who had been eating there for many many years. My food was to go but it was still warm and fresh when I arrived home to eat. My husbands steak sub was good, it lacked seasoning but it was made well. My sailor sandwich was good too. The knockwurst could have had a better sear on it and it needed more mustard but overall it was good. We would...

Not happy about the kids meal that I received. I called the restaurant when I got home and saw the fries and chicken were burnt in both cold. I spoke to the manager or owner. Brandy and I expressed my concern over the appearance and the quality of my kids meal. I told her that I only had two fries that were full length fries she said that there were more than two full fries in the box. I went back to the restaurant to show her the food that I received, and she did agree that the fries were bad. She did offer to make me new fries, but could not make the chicken over for some reason and no refund and left the box with her! So now I have to spend more money to feed my child.
