Cravings Cupcakery absolutely ruined my peace of mind this past Saturday for my sons first birthday by not having our PAID FOR order ready. I tried to rally but was truly devastated. They apologized to my husband (who went to pick up the cupcakes and smash cake we talked about, ordered, and paid for on the way to my sons party) and said they would deliver the cupcakes in 30 to us. TWO HOURS LATER..in came a laughable mixmatch of cupcakes- Some were funfetti, some were vanilla, some tasted like cinnamon, other people said they tasted coconut. Luckily, none of the kiddos who ate some were allergic to any of the random assortment ..non of which we agreed on. THE ICING ON THE CAKE (pun intended) was when we finally cut open this massive āsmash cakeā they brought to us, there was a giant roll of PLASTIC inside it. I almost donāt even have words for this. Like..What if I let my one year go to town on the cake and one of them choked on the plastic? Or cut it open at the party? Not to mention itās disgusting and a total slap in the face on top of everything. Finally, get this, no call of apology was ever made. Just a late night email saying they would take 100.00 off my order..implying that I was going to pay them ANYTHING after this nightmare! I made a few posts on my social media to make others AWARE because, duh, if you get good customer service you tell a few people but bad service you tell the world! And SO many people chimed in! Late orders, wrong orders, MOLDY CAKE POPS! How are they still in business? My dad (now retired) was the director of health and safety for a major organization. Heāll be making a few calls to some health inspectors to check them out. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was in need of a cake for a special occasion and someone recommended I check out this bakery. I NEVER order a cake without getting cupcakes first to sample the flavors I'm potentially interested in ordering. I ordered a strawberry cupcake, chocolate cupcake, funfetti cupcake, and an oreo cupcake. The service was pleasant and the ambiance was inviting. Visually the cupcakes look very appetizing BUT these were honestly the WORST cupcakes I have ever tasted. I have had really horrible cupcakes but these take the cake ( pun intended). The strawberry cupcake was dark pink but NO strawberry flavor (despite the filling, icing, and strawberry syrup it was bland) and was dry beyond description. I have to say that the funfetti and oreo cupcake followed suit being dry and virtually flavorless. These cupcakes were so dry that I couldn't eat more than the one bite I had of each. I honestly didn't even want to eat that. The oreo cupcake was so dry/stale it was like I had to saw a piece off with my spoon because it kept folding inward. I have NEVER had to do that before. The best thing this batch of 4 cupcakes had going was the chocolate cupcake. The chocolate cupcake was moist and flavorful and the icing was a nice compliment. However, 1 out of 4 is horrible odds for anything much less cupcakes. I can't stand nasty, dry, and flavorless cake. I threw them away. Box mix cupcakes would've been 100 times better and I could've gotten a couple of boxes for the price I paid for 3 of those nasty cupcake. How exactly does one make nasty/dry cupcakes?! š© Hard pass on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was born with a sweet tooth so I was extremely excited to try out Cravings. Sidenote: I'm also a peachy home baker that likes to see what's out there. First problem, the price. A dozen for $32, knowing full well I can make them from scratch for half that. Anyways, I decided to get a four pack for about $13. This way I'd have a few samples to try from which takes me to my second problem: lack of flavor variety and basic decoration. Everything was extremely basic, there wasn't much that sparked my interest and the decorations did nothing to justfy paying $3.25 per cupcake.
So let's skip to taste, YIKES. Again, I LOVE SWEETS but I ate half a red velvet cupcake and threw it away. Tried a bite of an orange creamsicle, threw it away. My dad tried the dulce de leche, he cringed and threw his away. Last resort, my 11 year old nephew tried a vanilla cupcake and, you guessed it - threw it away. The frosting was extremely hard and flavorless, hint of vanilla and the rest was just sugar. I dropped one on my kitchen counter on purpose and it still held it's shape! The cake itself was so dry, devoid of all moisture. Maybe it was a bad day? Well, at least my trash can was happy. I hope that Cravings gets it right eventually but with $3.25 per...
