Let me start off by saying I looked at the reviews and thought this would be a nice place for my family to get a country style meal. Well I was taken back by how rude and disrespectful the women who owned the place acted. I thought maybe she was just having a bad day. So we went ahead and ordered our food while we waited for our food the owner must’ve known the people that sat behind us because the entire time we waited for our food she was degrading people in the restaurant talking about everybody and was just plain out rude. Now we get to discuss the so-called home style cooking if you call canned green beans homestyle cooking we have a problem. The french fries were just dry and old. The rice pudding was I’m not even sure what was in it but it tasted horrible and looked even worse. The rest of the food was just tasteless and had no flavor. This little gem is a local treasure! I've passed by it for years and never took the time to stop until today. There are very few of these old time family restaurants left where you can get simple food cooked exceptionally well, no fuss, great service, with a real homey local diner vibe. The biscuits and gravy were the best I have ever had in Virginia and the home fries were cooked properly, meaning NOT deep fried, but cooked on a flat grill with onions.
