We finally decided to try the new Mechanicsville location on 6/1 at 11:50am. Never again. We sat at the table for 15 minutes before our order was taken. Another 45 minutes before it was delivered. Server never came and checked on us, never brought us silverware or napkins. Three other tables were sat after us, received their food and were getting ready to leave before we got our food. The person who delivered our food clearly didn’t know what table the food was supposed to go to when it did come out. The food was absolutely awful. My scrambled eggs weren’t fully cooked, our pancakes were cold and dry so butter didn’t even melt on them, French toast was rock solid on the edges and home fries were completely cold. Server finally came to check on us ten minutes after the food was delivered, and I told her everything was cold. She offered to have us wait for it to be warmed up or re-fired, which I declined without hesitation bc we had already waited 45 minutes. She said she would speak to the mgr. Nobody ever came over to speak with me, but I guess the mgr took off 15%. Then we waited another 15 minutes after we finished eating for the server to finally come back for me to pay. She sat the credit card machine down on the table and walked away from us in the middle of me paying. Worst customer service and food ever. I seriously contemplated walking out twice without paying. What an incredibly...
Read moreThe Food was good. Cooked well and my eggs were cooked almost like I like them but NOT overcooked so I was ok. The ham portion equated to the size of a half slice of sugar ham so I’d say it was a decent portion, but definitely not a full slice. The home fries…were tasty. We tried to detect if it was old bay or what (?) but it made them taste better. My BFF stated that perhaps they should state what that seasoning is because of food allergies…but I liked them. The temperature could have been warmer but… Service was average for take-out. The young lady greeting at the door was of a mild temperament and not overly inviting. She was courteous and answered my questions adequately when asked about the home fries…and she was right, they were good (just barely warm). She advised that each was independent of the other and so there could be differences on pricing and menu…and I will say that the price was a little high for breakfast but not overly priced for breakfast - if you know what I mean. Atmosphere was ok for takeout. The decor is ‘farm’ kitchen vibes. Nice and bright, white and blue colors. The staff waiting the tables, from my observations, didn’t seem eager to be serving…again my observation because I didn’t speak to all of them. But I did interact with the young lady who took my order, and the atmosphere and others reflected as such. I will return again and I do recommend them…based on this...
Read morewe went there at 10:00 a.m. For a wednesday it looked pretty busy. I ordered the chicken fried steak but was given steak and eggs. A mistake on the server but no big deal because I think she heard me wrong. The food was cooked well. The steak came with tomatoe on top and home fries, with two eggs(made however you want), and two slices of lightly toasted bread. All your condiments are present on the table which is convienent. The servers were polite and friendly but I did have an empty drink for a little bit before anyone noticed. The hot chocolate I had was decent with a good amount of whipped cream and syrup but nothing special as far as taste. My wife had the Grand slam and she loved it (except for the grits because she has never eaten them before). That was two eggs (made to order), three bacon strips, three sausage (links or patties), home fries, four slices if bread (mulitple options to choose from), and the afore mentioned grits. The menu is good sized both for food and beverages. The menu is available on computer or phone with pictures for each menu item. That is unique and very good for first timers to really get an idea of what they are ordering. I will go back and try them again. If you are in the area I think it would be a good...
