My wife had been here once on a girls night out. She suggested our family give this a try. First, this is not you regular "pizza joint" though they do serve pizza. Upon entering I could tell this place was different by looking at how professional the wait staff was dressed. We were seated promptly. Our waiter, Brandon, knew the menus well and took our drink orders. Wife and I had beer my son had what they called a Fireball Margarita which was made with Tequila and Fireball Whiskey which I thought was a bad combination until I tasted it. Highly recommend it! Brandon came to take our order and I had questions about some of the food because of my allgeries. What he didn't know he left to ask and promptly came back to let me know. We ordered the Tomato Brushetta for an appetizer so I could decide what I wanted to order. It came out quickly and looked amazing! We gave our order with my wife having the Spaghetti with Caesar Salad and baked potato, son having the Calzone and me the Seafood Salad adding black olives. We were served these amazing rolls prior to the food which came out all at one time, was hot and was amazing presentation and taste wise. Brando was very tentative making sure everything was OK. My wife and son got to go boxes because the portions are worth the price of food. Upon asking if we wanted dessert my son chose to tackle the cheese cake with a strawberry glaze which was huge. He could not eat it all taking half in his to go box. In ending this I want to say this place is more than a restaurant. For me it was an experience. I have never been to Italy but this is what I would expect in a place if I were to go there. I don't want to say it's fine dining but is more upscale on presentation. You don't have to get all dressed up to enjoy what they have to offer in their quality of food and experience. I will definitely be back to try other dishes. Oh and just to mention though we did not try, they do...

First time for us at Giambancos. You'll never drive past here and see the place, it's hidden behind a parallel strip mall closer to 360 in Mechanicsville. This was literally the best Italian meal we've had in the area. The Antipasta Rustico was very tasty, with eggplant, roasted red pepper and mozzarella. The balsamic on it really made it nice. We tried a Margherita Pizza with the Pomodoro Sauce and we found the flavors amazing! The only thing better would be if it were cooked more "well", could be a personal preference, everyone has their own ideas on what they like in a pizza. The sauce was so unique tasting, it was hard to put my finger on it, but it was fantastic. The dough is fresh made, you could tell. The bread/butter before the meal was fresh baked, and it was by far the best bread I've had in VA. I would return just for the bread if they would let me. We also tried the Chicken Parmesan dinner and it was right on point. The chicken was cooked perfectly, lots of cheese and their tomato sauce was delicious.

Now about the drinks, they have a really full menu of martinis and margaritas, we were surprised at the selection. We tried the chocolate martini and the lemon drop. I'd be lying if I said my fiancee' wasn't working at getting every ounce of chocolate out of that glass! And the lemon drop was a perfect balance of the lemon flavor with the sugared rim. Really enjoyed the drinks. Our bill was probably 60/40 drinks/food.

The prices are really reasonable for the flavor and quality. You can probably find cheaper food out there, but you won't find a better proposition between the friendly waitstaff, quality/taste and prices.

The ending of the night was splitting their Godfather Brownie. Don't walk, run there to get it! The brownie is actually more like lava cake, paired with a coffee flavored ice cream. Do not pass this up. Take your meal home with you and eat the brownie. And...

brought hubby there for his first time tonight and was my only second time and I haven't been in a few years. our server was awesome I just should train most as awesome as she was. every single thing We ordered was exactly the way we asked and completely awesome. When the fuzzy navels are so good you could drink that and nothing else the rest of your life. would definitely recommend going just not in the evening on a Friday or Saturday late....We left at 8:30 brought hubby there for his first time tonight and was my only second time and I haven't been in a few years. our server was awesome I just should train most as awesome as she was. every single thing We ordered was exactly the way we asked and completely awesome. When the fuzzy navels are so good you could drink that and nothing else the rest of your life. would definitely recommend going just not in the evening on a Friday or Saturday late....We left at 8:30 and there were a bunch of very loud obnoxious cussing drunk people at the bar with children and families still eating. That was our only issue. Will definitely not go that late again but definitely go to our same server.

They did handle this man that was a little too intoxicated and contacted me immediately..... as busy as they were They made the time for me immediately.... I've never had any restaurant owner get back in touch so quickly if there was an issue and make sure he made it right.

This is definitely a phenomenal person that really cares about his restaurant and I already said how good the food was and service.

thank you so very much again there were a bunch of very loud obnoxious cussing drunk people at the bar with children and families still eating. That was our only issue. Will definitely not go that late again but definitely go to our...

Ordered takeout the other night on my way home. The Giambanco salad was good. I think it could have had more chicken. I ordered two paninis...one Portobello and one shrimp and crab. The fillings were plentiful, but it appeared that their panini press is broken. They were only pressed and heated in the center. They were difficult to eat because of the toughness of the bread. The Italian sub was pathetic. Very little meat for a 10" sub. I attached a pic of the sub which was reheated so the onions and tomato have been removed. I arrived to find my order wasn't ready so I had a drink at the bar. Not the place to order an old fashioned. I don't think I'd go out of my way to eat here again.
