Good Taste Express Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Virginia

I have never eaten anything so awful in my life. I am the type of person who eats the food whether I like it or not just because I paid for it. This was inedible. My husband and I threw an entire $50 order away and immediately ordered from another restaurant because we just couldn't eat this. I was so surprised because we picked this place based on reviews. The kung pao chicken and the egg rolls were sour. The crispy beef and sesame chicken were both gelatinous. Almost everything had little to no flavor; the items that did have a flavor tasted rotten or just plain wrong. Even the texture of the fried rice was strange. The individual meat pieces in the combination fried rice either tasted spoiled or under cooked. The egg drop soup was the only things that was pretty good but even the crispy things that come with it were bland. On a positive note: the people were friendly, the food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time, and the delivery fee was not bad. I wish I tried their food long ago. Now we are moving out Va & I recently decided to give it a try out of curiosity. I didn’t expect much, so I order lunch specials. Lo mein & fried rice. Wow!! I’m surprised. The fried rice is the best I have ever had in NoVA. The texture was just how fried rice should be. Lots of restaurant serving mushy fried rice & even use sushi rice for some reasons! Their fried rice was closest one compare to what we have back home in Asia. Also, they’re not allowing customers to come in: which I really like! I feel secure & safe eating their food. They only do curbside pickup, so no getting out of your vehicle. We got lemongrass chicken skewers, pork lo mein, wonton soup and hot and sour soup. Food was hot, and very flavorful! Lemongrass was so bright, and a welcome upgrade to the standard skewer. The noodle texture was perfect! Hot and sour soup seemed as if it was missing vinegar. It had a tolerable, extra hot kick, and I would have really enjoyed it if it had the sour component. Wonton soup had a deep golden/brownish broth. I didn't have any. I think it exceeded expectation!
