Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Virginia

I am a regular customer who frequently places online orders for pickup. In the past, I’ve always appreciated the warm and welcoming atmosphere under previous management.

This morning, March 2, 2025, at 10:15 AM, I picked up my Number 13 and Number 10 (Ticket Number: 01-000261-99-177267). When I arrived, the restaurant was empty. I greeted the sandwich maker, but he did not acknowledge me. However, when I reached the counter, he asked if I was picking up an order, and I confirmed. He then mentioned he was preparing it.

While waiting, I appreciated the kindness of the gentleman who finished and bagged my Tuna and Italian sandwiches, as he thanked me for my visit. However, upon eating the sandwiches, I noticed the bread was clearly from the night before—mushy and not fresh. The bacon, however, was freshly cooked, as I saw it being prepared while I waited and put on my sandwich.

I’ve never had an issue with stale bread before, and I’m curious about what may have changed. Additionally, I couldn’t help but wonder if something was off today, as the sandwich maker—who appeared to be the floor manager—seemed disengaged, avoiding eye contact and conversation. Perhaps it was just an early morning miscommunication, so I’ll leave it at that.

In line behind two ladies that had orders, and was passed over when another couple walked up. I am a 6'3" gentleman and there is no way the sandwich maker did not see me standing behind two ladies that were half my size. She quickly asked the couple that walked up after me standing there for 10-minutes for their order. Obviously they saw the look on my face and quickly asked if I had ordered, I said, I had not and they gracefully directed the sandwich lady to take my order. Not sure what that is about but no excuse for skipping me standing there for 10-minutes with no other customers......concerning....female sandwich lady, 23 May 2019, 7:45 pm, may have her own issues......there seem to be a selective posture at this restaurant as my wife reminded me that a similar situation occurred last year at this same establishment. Coincidence ??? Wonder. ...

New Post! 1/25/25 We just got a Big Kahuna steak and cheese. Highly disappointed, little meat, enough cheese but so many hot peppers and onion that I am sure I will pay the price in the morning. Have had many from there that were delish, this one was all lightly cooked peppers and cheese with grilled onions, and bits of steak here and there. Very Sad.

I had ordered from this place a year and a half ago, was totally disgusted. Gave it another shot today,, absolutely delicious, new team? new management? I don't know but keep up the delicious subs and I will be ordering again!! 5 STARS 4 months later, they are still knocking it out of the park, the #13 Italian is my favorite, and it always is delicious, I could NOT give anything else around here the same opinion.

Here it is over a year later, these guys there are making the best subs you can get around here, Italian, Kahuna cheese steak, you name it, they got it and it will be delish. I must've picked the busiest night in the world to order from this Jersey Mike's! LOL! I placed my order online for a giant #17, the Philly Cheese Steak with extra meat...mmmm! I also ordered a #17 bowl c of the same thing with extra meat and cheese! Double yum!!😛😛 Well, the website indicated that my order would be ready in about 30 minutes so I changed clothes and drove on up. I was about 5-7 minutes early, but they were packed!! I looked for the place to check in for pick-up orders, but I didn't see any particular signage indicating such a place, so I just kinda stood there looking pitiful til 1 of the employees asked for my name. He told me that my steaks were just getting ready to go on the grill. I thought, "Good. They'll be good and hot when I get home." Another 20 or so minutes, possibly longer, I finally saw another young man putting my steaks on the grill. After, oh, maybe another 10 minutes, a young lady finally called my name. So, that night was pretty slow service, but the food was really, really fresh! All in all, not bad. Just don't go around...
