Millers Ale House – Where Everybody Could Know Your Name
Let me tell you about a little slice of awesome called Millers Ale House — it’s not just a restaurant, it’s a whole vibe. I stopped in the other day, thinking I’d grab a bite, maybe a drink… and ended up stumbling into what might just become my new regular hangout. Think “Cheers,” but with flat-screens, better wings, and a bartender who actually remembers your name after one visit.
First things first — the chicken wings. Good grief. I went simple: plain wings, salt and pepper. No sauce to drown them, no gimmicks. Just crispy, hot, perfectly cooked wings that hit the spot like they were made by someone who knows what real flavor is. I’m telling you, less was more. I could’ve eaten twenty, but I showed a rare act of restraint and left a few for the next guy (you’re welcome).
Now let’s talk about the real MVP of the night — Parisa, the bartender. This woman is a force of nature. She wasn’t just slinging drinks; she was holding court. Sharp, warm, funny as hell, and she seemed to know every single person at the bar. She worked the crowd like a Vegas headliner — remembered names, drink orders, probably even your dog’s name if you gave her a minute. She brought the whole place together like duct tape and good bourbon.
And the crowd? About a dozen guys who looked like they’d just wrapped up a round of golf, a fishing trip, or maybe a well-earned nap. Guys around my age, swapping stories, talking life, and laughing like it was therapy hour with cold beer. No egos, no nonsense — just solid company and good conversation. One guy told a joke so bad it should’ve been a felony, and we still laughed. That’s the kind of place this is.
By the time I left, I was already thinking about when I’d come back. Millers Ale House has that rare kind of energy — part sports bar, part neighborhood living room, with a side of crispy wings and damn good people. I may have walked in solo, but I walked out feeling like I’d just made a dozen new friends and found my new post-retirement hideout.
So yeah — Parisa, wings, laughs, and a bar full of good folks. What else do you...
Read moreI was visiting friends in the area and told them of my desire to have a great hamburger while in the US (I live in the UK, where hamburgers, like most of the food, are pretty terrible) and the very first suggestion was Miller's. We visited at dinner time on Sunday, 26 March, 2023.
Although I just had the basic cheeseburger, it had far from basic flavour. The burger had a great crust, which is the hallmark of a great burger. To that, add the long crinkle-cut dill pickle slices, add the lettuce & tomato, add the bacon and the condiments of your choice (I went with the burger standard - ketchup & mustard) and this cheeseburger is a flavour explosion in your mouth with every bite. I cannot say enough about how good this hamburger was....I'm running out of adjectives.
The sides were standard but well executed, especially the onion rings. They were very crispy yet were light and not greasy at all....clearly whomever was manning the fryer that night knew how to cook great food.
The atmosphere at Miller's Ale House is traditional American sports bar, so plenty of televisions with a plethora of both screens and sporting choices for your viewing pleasure. To top it all off, the drinks selection is fantastic. Miller's deserves special praise for carrying New Belgium Brewing Company's Fat Tire on tap. I have been drinking Fat Tire for 30+ years and was very happy to see it on the menu.
Overall I just love everything about Miller's Ale House. I so wish they would open a branch where I live...they would...
Read moreChicken was dry. Update: a couple of days ago I went to have lunch which is usually okay but today we had a different waiter, when we sat down seemed a bit humdrum but I figured because they had just open so he proceeded to take out order and I guess he was trying to be cordial because he was a waiter he was the only one there and he had to provide service to us and it was his job but upon sitting there other customers came in and he seemed more joyful with the other customers laughing having conversation and etc so I turned around to see the customers behind me and I felt a little discriminated against. So I said well maybe it's just he knows the table behind us other customers came in they sat ordered same joyous attitude talk conversation little jokes and giggles I turned again so this was becoming a little bit of a trend and this section that I was sitting in myself and my guess were the only African American couple there everyone else around us was Caucasian and yes you guessed it so was our waiter! Now I've gone to this location a couple of times already and this was the first time I've ever felt that but this was the first time we had him as a waiter as well. I just hope the next time I visit this location he's not our waiter or I will request a...
