New York Pizza Grill Kabob is a bit of a misnomer. While the restaurant does serve pizza, it also serves a wide variety of other cuisines, including Italian, Pakistani, Afghani, and Indian. This is not what you would expect from the name, but it is certainly a welcome surprise.
I recently had the opportunity to try the lamb and chicken kabob with rice, salad, and chickpeas. Oh and I almost forgot about the delicious Naan. Freshly made could not get enough. The kabobs were well-seasoned and cooked perfectly. The rice was fluffy and flavorful, and the salad was crisp and refreshing. The chickpeas were a nice addition, and they added a bit of protein and texture to the dish.
I also tried the Kabuki Pulao, which is a chunk of boiled lamb cooked with basmati rice, carrots, and raisins. The lamb was tender and flavorful, and the rice was perfectly cooked. The carrots and raisins added a bit of sweetness to the dish, which balanced out the savory flavors of the lamb and rice.
The service at New York Pizza Grill Kabob was good. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they were happy to answer any questions I had about the menu. The food was not served quickly, as it is all prepared to order, but it was worth the wait.
The prices at New York Pizza Grill Kabob are competitive. I paid around $19 for the lamb and chicken kabob, and around $17 for the kabuki pulao. These prices are in line with other restaurants in the area. However, you do get good size servings.
Overall, I had a great experience at New York Pizza Grill Kabob. It is a great option for anyone looking for a unique dining experience. The restaurant serves a wide variety of cuisines, all of which are prepared to order. The food is delicious, the service is good, and the prices are reasonable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a new...
Read moreI don't understand the high reviews. My wife and I tried the beef kabob and gyro platter. The beef in kabob was nearly inedible. It had bands of unchewable fat tendons or fat veins. At least, that's what I think it was. I made a little pita sandwich with them but ended up spitting the beef out. It was pretty gross. I got the impression they get their beef and cube it up without removing any fat veins or anything else that an average person/chef would prepare the meat. The rice was okay. The chickpeas were good. They had some spice but were the only meal highlight. The accompanying salad was fully wilted with lots of brown lettuce. The gyro platter was simply slices of gyro meat on a pita. Nothing else for the gyro. Again, with the wilted side salad and a tomato with hard yellow spots. I'm not accustomed to a deconstructed gyro sandwich. It was dry and not very good. It also took forever to be served…at least 40 minutes. After we were there for 5-10 minutes, a group of three construction workers came in and ordered a pizza. The pizza from afar looked okay, but the guys only ate one slice each and left the entire pizza. It was only us and the construction workers during the height of the lunch rush hour. I think that's also telling. The ambiance is weird, with 80% of the place set up for a wedding atmosphere, and the remaining 20% is where you can sit. I feel bad writing this review. I wanted to like it, but I wouldn't recommend this...
Read moreHad a surprise birthday party with a DJ in their event space and we had a ball!! When decorated, the space was very pretty. The catered food was absolutely delicious, the venue was a perfect setting for our group, and the owners could not have been any nicer and accommodating. The event planner had plenty of time to decorate and setup, and clean up was a breeze. The party space can be partitioned so restaurant guests can't see, but do know guests can still hear the party because the event space is not an enclosed room (not a problem for us). The menu options were vast and kid-friendly (lots of spaghetti noodles in the chicken parm), and lemonade along with sodas were available. Iffat served during our party and she was quite attentive to everyone.
Highly recommend this space for parties because gold and white linens, round tables and chairs are included, as well as stage and backdrop. That saves so much money rather than renting. Plenty of space for a DJ and to setup a bar (you bring and serve your own alcohol if desired). However, you must obtain a one-day Virginia liquor license for that location (necessary in many Virginia party rooms). Ample parking lot for your guests.
Thanks for the wonderful memories. We will be back for another...
