Do not go here... I recently went to Popeye’s on 735 Warrenton Road in Fredericksburg, VA. The experience I had was just unacceptable. I have been a customer of this establishment since 2017 when I moved into the area, that said, the service and product has consistently decreased. Now, I can understand that anyone can have a bad day, but it should not be a bad day every time you visit the establishment, and this has been the case since 2019. Severs, do not smile, speak very broken English, and struggle to understand spoken English. The last two visits prompted me to write this review. Around November of 2024, I requested the chicken special and the chicken was dried out and the pieces were the incorrect pieces requested, additionally another issue that has been a consistent problem the employees give you the wrong number of pieces as well. An example, if you request a 12 piece, you will receive a 10 piece, if you request an 8 piece you will get a 6 piece. Which is why I always must check the chicken before I leave to be certain they did not fail to provide the requested order. The missing pieces have been an on- going issue since 2022. Taking the high road, I would chalk it up as a mistake, but it has gotten to the point to where it is so consistently bad, that it seems intentional, just to cheat the customer. Back in November 2024, after receiving the wrong number of pieces, and the incorrect types of pieces I went home to eat the chicken. It made me so sick after eating one bite, that my body immediately rejected (to say it conservatively). I was so disgusted that I threw the entire box away, and tried to remedy my symptoms. This created an aversion to the chicken that made me stay away from it until today January 2025, attempting to give them another chance, (i.e.) with a baby step so to speak ordering, a red bean large side. When I entered the server behind the counter was rude. I was the only person waiting to order, and the sever looked at me turned her back and ignored me and continued looking over the food. After about a minute, she turned around with no smile and asked “what do you want”, not (may I help you), or (what would you like today). I ordered the large red bean. After waiting the order came up, after receiving it, I checked it. The container was only half full. I went back over to the counter to ask if the container could be filled to where it should normally, as full. The server said we can only give you that much since you don’t have rice. I said “could you please put more beans in there, it is only half full. I mentioned I've had this several times before, and this is less than what is typically served”. The server reluctantly put another small spoon scoop of beans in the container to make it only ¾ full. In my mind, I am thinking, this establishment already consistently tries to short customers chicken and now they are getting stingy over beans, this was the last straw. To be so frugal was ridiculous. The service has always been "not good" (no smiles),(cannot understand requests), but now with the mistakes on the pieces within orders, and the stinginess with regular sides. I am taking my dollars to another chicken establishment. It took these experiences to realize I have become conditioned to poor service from this establishment, my family and I deserve better and we refuse to be treated in such a way. There are far too many other places, now with better service and chicken to accept such poor treatment. Servers at Popeye’s need to have a better attitude and training; give the customers what they pay for, and stop being condescending to customers when they ask the servers to correct the order, and "stop" treating them like they are trying to steal something when they simply want what they are paying for at the counter. KFC, Bojangles, and other businesses on that road will benefit because now their product and customer treatment is far better than Popeye’s. If you do not want frowns from employees, poor quality food and incorrect orders, do...
Read moreI think it's 3 strikes you're out for me. The last three visits here have been horrible. I do not know how this place has survived. It has the worst location off of 17, and it's never busy. Starting to think it may not be just a fast food restaurant. Ordered through the Popeyes app this time....not door dash...not Uber eats...their own app. Can anyone tell me what kind of number you get when you use any fast food app to order food? An ORDER NUMBER....right. Well I greeted the young lady and told her I had a mobile order through the App come through a few minutes ago and gave her the name. She tells me she needs a confirmation number🤣 I tell her, it was an order through the app...it only gives an order number which was #87. She walks away saying she needs to SEE the 'confirmation' number. I have never had ANY fast food joint ask to see my order number, let alone a fictitious confirmation number that you do not get from app orders, when I place an order through their app. Either way, my senior citizen step dad who placed the order, now had to email me the order number so I could show her the #87 which was whatever. One of the guys behind the counter realized this little girl must not realize there isn't a confirmation number because I'm not an Uber eats driver picking up food and was kind enough to give me a free drink. No big deal....let's move on. Little girl comes to the counter and wryly remarks "heres the food" and with a quick thank you, I ask if I could please have several Sauces and a couple butters....she tells me she cannot fill that request because I didn't order the sauces to which I told her there was no option on their app to choose sauce for the three chicken sandwiches in our order to which the girl who doesn't understand how her own companies app works tells me yes it does, people do it all the time. That all aside, I had a $50.00 order....id like to think a customer is entitled to one sauce at least, per $10 of their order considering if you spend $10 at McDonald's, chick FIL a , burger king, etc. they give you 2-4 sauces. I ask for the girls name which she refuses to give me(none of the four people working in front are wearing visible name tags)...so I say fine, I don't need your name....what's your employee ID and she states "we don't have those here".....I have worked in many restaurants in the last 20 years and managed a couple and I've never not had an employee ID number. Then I ask for the manager and this girl looked like she had been waiting her whole life to say "I'm the manager"🤣 all I could do was laugh, having been a manager in food service and knowing only terrible eateries have a manager that tells their employees to say that. Either way, don't go here. The food sucks....it's expensive...the service is terrible....our order was wrong, we had two normal chicken sandwiches NO MaYO that had extra mayo on them and a spicy chicken sandwich that doesn't even come with mayo, that had mayo. Also, if they do not think you speak Spanish, you can listen to all the racist things they say behind the counter🤣 Go to Bojangles or Royal Farms for your chicken off of...
Read moreFirst time I ever been to Popeye's. Wasn't the best but I guess not the worse either. I'm from PA actually but I never been to any Popeye's.
This Popeye's - Just went there, it was HOT and I'm pretty tolerant of heat. I think the AC was broke or something so good luck trying to enough hot chicken there.. the heat was making me not to hungry so I took it with me. The chicken was very tender so that's good. It tasted a little off but also kinda good at the same time. Cole slaw was ok to, and actually cold so that's good.
The person who took our order was nice, she was a forgein lady. But there was a person there who sounded like she didn't wanna be there. Although who can blame her.
I wasn't there long or enough to have a full rating. But it was fair.
I seen some comments in the reviews saying food was under cooked. Hope I don't get food poisoning! D:
EDIT: I know what the chicken reminds me of. Fish! Like how Long John Silvers chicken and fish taste similar because of the batter and frying it in the same place I believe, I think this place does it to. It taste like it. Like a.. knock off Long John Silvers or something.
And the chicken did kinda make my stomach a little upset. Not in a food poison way, just...
