I recently tried this new, local Afghan style kabob restaurant. Walked in and waited a while up front (where the previous restaurants in this spot used to greet and seats guests) and after no one showed up, I walked to the back counter and rang the bell. A minute later someone came up. I placed my order, but wanted to know a little more about how they do their chaplee kabob, as it’s typically spicey at most places and that’s what I prefer. That didn’t seem to go well, so I just ordered it and sat down. A few mins later a couple walked it and did the same as me, stood up front. After a minute, I told them they needed to go to the back and ring the bell. (they might want t put a sign up front directing guests to do this). My food came out pretty quick, but rather than bringing it to the table, they call the guests to the back to get it. (I gave a tip when paying, not quite sure what that was for at this point). It looked great, very appealing! The rice tasted the best of everything on my plate. The salad was made with fresh items, but they put Italian dressing on it – very odd as that doesn’t match the flavors here. The chick peas side dish was fresh, but not very tasty and the only spice seemed to come from the black pepper in it. The chaplee kabob was pretty salty, definitely not spicey and pretty much on the bland side. Their bread (resembled naan) was pretty nice. During the visit the staff stayed in the kitchen in the back, never coming out to ask how the guests liked the food, check on guests, etc. They definitely need to pick up their customer service a little. Freshness is quite decent, but flavors are bland. I realize they recently opened, maybe they’re still working to find what works.

This was a take out order using Google. First and foremost, their food is delicious and will definitely come back for that. We tried their lamb and super combo with potatoes as one of the side dishes. All the meat was amazing, along with the rice and bread. Their ordering amd customer service could improve a little bit. Afyer placing my order I waited 15 minutes before driving to the restaurant. After arrival they did not acknowledge my online order after my arrival so I had to wait an additional 10 minutes bit for the food it was worth it.

I wish there’s zero star the Qabeli palaw so expensive $29 plus tax and no bread no site no salad and not fresh. The rice and the meat was left over maybe 2 days or more than that I get sick and we order kebab. It was lamb kebab chicken, it was not fresh too. They charge you for everything for bread for the site. The only give you leftover rice with the meat for $29. It’s expensive definitely not come back. It’s been happen to us for 4 ago. It’s under New ownership.

If you've never experienced Afghan cuisine, you're truly missing out on a culinary adventure! Afghan Cuisine on North Lamar is a hidden gem that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving more.

A Feast for the Senses

The moment you step inside, you're greeted by the enticing aroma of exotic spices and grilled meats. The restaurant's warm ambiance and friendly staff make you feel right at home.

Mouthwatering Menu

Their menu is a treasure trove of authentic Afghan dishes. I highly recommend starting with the Chaplee Kabob5]. This flavorful ground beef patty is seasoned to perfection with chopped onions, tomatoes, and a hint of spice that will wake up your palate[4].

For the main course, the Bone-in Chicken is a must-try. Marinated in special herbs and grilled to juicy perfection, it's a dish that showcases the essence of Afghan cooking[1]. If you're a lamb lover, don't miss out on the Lamb Kabob. The tender chunks of meat are infused with aromatic spices that will transport you straight to Kabul[1].

Seafood enthusiasts will delight in the Shrimp Kabob. These jumbo shrimp are expertly seasoned and grilled, offering a lighter yet equally satisfying option[7]. Beyond the Kebabs

While the kebabs are stellar, don't overlook other menu items. The fragrant rice dishes and freshly baked naan bread are the perfect accompaniments to soak up the delicious sauces[1.

Final Verdict

Afghan Cuisine offers generous portions, reasonable prices, and flavors that will expand your culinary horizons. Whether you're a seasoned fan of Afghan food or a curious first-timer, this restaurant is sure to impress

Don't let another day go by without treating yourself to this delightful cuisine. Your taste buds will thank you! Tell them...

We stopped in for an early lunch. I have lots of food allergies and the chef came out to talk to us and let me know what things were safe for me. We only had to wait about 10 minutes. While we waited, the chef sent out small bowls of lentil soup. It was delicious! The soup was served with lime so I tried squeezing it on the soup. What a difference that made! It was like a totally different soup! What had been a fairly traditional slightly spicy lentil soup with fresh pepper on top, totally transformed with the lime to this bright and buttery, slightly sweet but still savory. We ordered 2 double servings to go! Then our meals came. My chicken kabob platter was so much food, I have plenty to take home! And I am so glad to have 2 delicious meals! The chicken kabobs could be cut with a fork and were so juicy and tender! The flavors were fantastic! My husband had a gyro platter and he was very happy with it, as well. Shortly after we started eating our entrees, the chef brought us a large piece of naan bread fresh from the oven. My husband said it was amazing. The staff there was friendly and provided...
