I am a Diamond Elite Choice member. IF I COULD GIVE THEM ZERO STARS, I DEFINITELY WOULD!! Started out good. Traveled for business business with my family and stayed in a double Queen suite which was okay, considering the price you would think you would have a kitchen or full refrigerator with the abilities to cook. No stay over service unless requested at the front desk. I cleaned my own room and chased down housekeepers to get one roll of toilet paper and maybe three towels for five guests in the room. There is a young man at the destiny julius, who will accommodate your needs. **My issue with this hotel was mainly the way I was treated after I asked for the hotel to please stop taking incidentals every time I was checked out and checked back in. The front desk knew that I was staying for up to 2 to 3 weeks. I was talked into a 6 night special rate stay by the general manager shanita wright, but was charged approximately $114 per night regardless of her $57 a night stay if I accepted the 6th night special rate.very quickly realized that I was still paying over $114 per night on this so called "special $57 nightly rate". NOT!! ON MY LAST NIGHT STAYING WITH THIS HOTEL, I PAID PARTIAL WITH POINTS PLUS 85.00 FOR MY LAST NIGHT STAYING AT THIS HOTEL, I USED PARTIAL POINTS PLUS $85 CASH, AND AT THIS POINT I HAD PAID P PAID 4 SEPARATE INCIDENTALS THAT HAD NOT BEEN RETURNED TO MY CARD. NOBODY CARED. NEVERTHELESS, AFTER PAIN 85 DOLLARS CASH PLUS POINTS, I LEFT FOR THE DAY VERY EARLY. I PASSED THE GM, SHANITA WRITE AT THE FRONT DESK WHEN LEAVING, ALL SMILES, UNTIL AFTER 12PM I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THE GM STATING THAT I HAD NOT PAID. I DID, THROUGH CHOICE SITE. WHICH IS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN PAY WITH POINTS AND CASH. SHE YELLED MY NAME SEVERAL TIMES AND I SHOULD HAVE STOPPED MY WORK DAY AND DIRECTLY RETURNED TO HANDLE THAT ATTITUDE IN PERSON AFTER ALREADY PAYING ON THE SITE EARLIER THAT MORNING. SHE HUNG UP ON ME AND NEVER CALLED BACK. NOW REMY, I WAS PAID FOR THAT NIGHT. RETURN AT 10:00 P.M. WITH TWO YOUNG CHILDREN AND ONE OF MY CREW MEMBERS WHICH IS MY ADULT SON, TIRED FROM A LONG WORK DAY FREEZING COLD 40° WEATHER AND RAINING, AND WAS LOCKED OUT OF MY ROOM WITH ALL OF MY BELONGINGS INSIDE. MY YOUNGEST SON IS ON A NEBULIZER WHICH WAS ALSO IN MY ROOM. I WAS DENIED ACCESS TO STAY IN THE ROOM I HAD PAID FOR OR TO RECEIVE ANY OF MY BELONGINGS. I HAD TO CALL THE LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT TO GET THEM INVOLVED. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL, THEY LEFT ME AND MY CHILDREN WITH NOWHERE TO GO AND NOWHERE TO SLEEP WITH NONE OF OUR BELONGINGS, NO CLOTHING NO NEBULIZER NONE OF OUR FOOD THAT WAS INSIDE OF THE ROOM, BUT WAS PAID FOR. THE REASON BEING, THAT THE GENERAL MANAGER SHANITA WRIGHT WAS DEMANDING YET A FIFTH INCIDENTAL CHARGE FOR THE NIGHT!! THE POLICE DEPARTMENT CALLED THE HOTEL. WE WERE STILL TURNED AWAY AT 1:00 IN THE MORNING AFTER SITTING AT THEIR HOTEL FOR 3 HOURS TRYING TO GET OUR BELONGINGS OR GO TO SLEEP IN THE ROOM THAT I HAD PAID FOR. ME AND MY FAMILY HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO LEAVE AT ALMOST 2:00 IN THE MORNING AT THIS POINT. *THE OLDER LADY THAT I SPOKE OF EARLIER THAT I SPOKE OF EARLIER WITH BLONDE HAIR AND GLASSES THAT DOES MONITOR THE FRONT DOORS DURING THE GRAVEYARD SHIFT, CALLED ME AFTER 15 OF LEAVING THE HOTEL AND TOLD ME THAT SHE WILL ALLOW ME TO REMOVE MY BELONGINGS FROM THE ROOM BUT COULD NOT STAY. EVEN THOUGH THE ROOM WAS PAID FOR, WE WERE BASICALLY BEING TOLD THAT WE PAY A FIFTH INCIDENTAL CHARGE OR WE DON'T GET TO SLEEP IN THE ROOM THAT WE PAID FOR. I removed my belongings and my family slept in the ca for the night. I have a daily maximum amount that I can use and it does not run from after midnight to the following midnight, it runs during a 24-hour increment which meant that I could not use my card until after 8:30 a.m. in the morning. So, I had a room paid for but could not sleep in it according to the general manager shanita wright.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL, AND PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUNG CHILDREN HERE BECAUSE YOU MAY GET LOCKED OUT OF YOUR ROOM WITH THOSE YOUNG CHILDREN OR ANY MEDICAL...
Read moreHi Everyone,||Where is it that we can go to find a clean, comfortable, hotel, with a bed that allows for a good nights sleep on a supportive mattress, an indoor pool with reasonable hours, plus a small but efficient business centre, small workout room, a friendly, accommodating, respectful professional staff for under $114 a night on the weekend?||If you’re headed too, or we’re going to stop in Fredericksburg, Virginia then we highly recommend the Country Inn and Suites by Radisson at 656 Warrenton Road Fredericksburg Virginia. Why?||Because you won’t be so pleased with yourself that you choose to stay at this hotel.||How do I know that? Because I spent over one hundred nights a year on the road in hotels for much of my over three decades professional career doing exactly that.||First and foremost, is very friendly, and polite staff who accommodated our request for a quiet room away from the highway and away from the elevators.||Secondly, our room was clean, and the bathtub shower, bathroom sink, refrigerator, microwave, and especially the TV, with a wonderful Samsung picture all worked well, as they all should!||Although the pool area is indoors, it was a nice size for an indoor pool at a hotel.||Three, I am a breakfast person, as I do not start my day without breakfast. Their breakfast is good, had healthy choices, and there was plenty for everyone who wanted to eat. Vivian, who was managing our breakfast on Sunday morning could not have been nicer, while being a real hoot to boot. My wife and I had a great time on multiple occasions laughing with different people and enjoying our stay thoroughly.||I am also the kind of person who reads the reviews before choosing any place I want commit myself and our time for longer than, ten minutes. I realise that some of the other reviews correctly stated this is not the most up-to-date motif in a hotel that I have stayed in my experience, and they are correct. However, when the staff, the breakfast, the beds, the parking, and everyone’s experience is very satisfying, when the hotel was built and decorated really doesn’t mean much, now does it?||We also want to let you know that we were visiting because a good friend of ours for over thirty-seven years passed away suddenly we were both quite depressed. So again, I cannot adequately express our appreciation, and respect we now feel for the staff of this wonderful hotel because they did not add any additional obstacles we had to overcome in our time of severe grief.||Thank you all so much for that as we will be eternally...
Read moreThis hotel is awful. I went with my daughter's soccer team so we didn't have much choice. Half of the rooms had carpet. Half did not. The carpeted rooms did not feel clean and most of them smelled moldy. The sheets were thin and there was just a thin blanket. Even with the AC off, our room was cold. There was rust in the bathroom. The worst part however is the service we received from the front desk staff- Karen. When I checked in on Friday night (room 114 which is literally the first room off the lobby--and it was just my 14 year old daughter and me, her mother), I told them that the extra security feature (the extra latch that flips over the door) was missing. She said she would request maintenance to look at it on Saturday. I also told her that the bathroom door wouldn't close and asked her to add that to the list. On Saturday afternoon, we returned to our room to find the bathroom door was fixed but there was still no security latch. I mentioned this to Karen when I was leaving for dinner and her response was 'Well I told maintenance to look at it." On Sunday when checking out, I said to her that perhaps they should not rent out room 114 until they get the latch fixed. She said to me that maintenance had tried to enter my room 2 times on Saturday but were unable to get in. She said they knocked but no one answered. I replied that we were gone all day at a soccer tournament. She said they couldn't enter the room because I had placed a do not disturb sign on the door. I told her I had not because in fact there was no signage. I had looked for it to hang on the door as another level of 'security' because we didn't have the extra latch. I started to walk back to the room which was right off the lobby to show her and she snapped at me 'You don't have to get uppity with me." I was shocked and said that someone must be lying because there is no sign. She then told me that she was done talking to me and that I could leave. I was appalled at this dismissal and was so shocked that it didn't even dawn on me that clearly maintenance had been in our room because the bathroom door was fixed. All she needed to do was to explain that there was a part on order or that they were still working on it and that would have been the end of it. But her rude response and dismissive nature was absolutely uncalled for. The hotel was a dump and Karen...
