Amazing where a simple walk will lead you. I live less than a 1/4 mile . But I walked to pick my car up from service and decided I wanted to take something to my mechanic to thank him for taking care of me multiple times. So I popped in. Cookies were phenomenal he said.. I bought a cinnamon roll for my walk. Perfection. In my opinion. No gooey overly sugared processed roll here. The beautiful fragrance and glorious taste of yeast , the soft but chewy layers of dough with hints of cinnamon , butter and good quality sugar and the consistency of the chopped walnut. I didn’t need the napkin and no nuts fell onto my lap. This was my dream cinnamon roll. $2. Service was inviting and I felt like I was taken back to what it’s like to live in a nice friendly and community oriented town.
I went back as promised , after picking up my car and got a tuna sandwich on 9 grain. Dave who made my sandwich apparently has enthusiasm and love for his sandwich craft. It was simple delicious ness. Tuna was smooth and blended with just the right amount of mayonnaise. No celery which to my surprise I actually think now I prefer it that way. He even was happy to customize my sandwich 1/2 dill and 1/2 sweet pickles. Depending on which half I chose first. It was a huge sandwich but before I knew it.. Gone. I felt like the sandwich had given me a big hug. 🫶❤️ or Dave , maybe both. If you are like me and want a healthy simple but wholesome sandwich at a good price with the pleasures of feeling welcomed and appreciated. You must come here definitely. I’m so happy that I had to walk to pick up my car, otherwise I would have thought they just sell bread. However I will be back for just some bread . The spelt bread I’d like to try. And definitely the cinnamon rolls and cookies. More sandwiches too. This was the best experience in grab and go I’ve had in forever. Thank you so much everyone...

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent experience at Prairie Grain Bread Company was so off-putting that I felt compelled to share.
From the moment I walked in, the service was nothing short of cold and unwelcoming. The employee who took my order acted as though my presence was an inconvenience. No greeting, no smile—just a curt, impatient tone that made me feel like I was interrupting their day. I tried to brush it off, but the attitude only got worse. When I asked a simple question about the menu, their response was dismissive and borderline rude, as if I should’ve known better than to even ask.
I had half a mind to cancel my order and walk out, but honestly, I was so taken aback by the treatment that I just stood there, stunned. It didn’t even register to leave until after the fact.
Food aside (which ended up being average at best), it’s the service that will stick with me—and not in a good way. There are plenty of places in this city where you’re treated with basic respect and courtesy. Unfortunately, Prairie Grain Bread Company isn’t one of them. I...
Read moreThe only reason I didn't give it a five it's because I don't go to too many places that are exceptional although they are good they're very friendly they are very polite the bread is very good little bit of problem I have with it is don't buy too many loaves because it can go bad rather quickly and I understand that because it's fresh and homemade now the pumpkin raisin bread that is a phenomenal product the sandwiches they make there are all handmade with homemade bread as much as homemade is in the store but it's a very good product I don't think you'll be disappointed if you go in there but that's just my opinion I hope you will go in there because it's a nice environment and the smell is wonderful when you walk in the door fresh bread always smells great...
