We have loved Red Robin since we first tried it in another area of the state, and were excited to see it come to the Winchester area, right down the road from our house. When this Red Robin opened about a year ago the service and the food were both great, but we have noticed both steadily going down hill since then. After loving the hot garlic fries that first time, my husband was willing to pay extra for them on our next visit, but this time they were swimming in garlicky oil, limp and cold. He tried them on one more visit, and they were again cold and limp. So he went back to regular fries, which were cold but not swimming in oil. After our first visit, we’ve never had hot fries at this Red Robin location. We had the worst dining experience of our lives when we went there recently for dinner. The restaurant was seriously short-staffed. Dirty dishes were piled on top of an empty table right near the entrance. That should have been our first clue. Then we were brought wet silverware on a tray with a paper towel (which we used to dry it.) There weren’t napkins, but a roll of paper towels on the table. A waitress spilled a tray of drinks next to our table, apologized to us, and went to get new drinks. It took a long time for anyone to come clean up the broken glass and mop the wet floor. We took the roll of paper towels and cleaned up our table. As best I could see, there were only 2 waitresses for a full dining room. It took 45 minutes to get our food. The order was wrong- my husband ordered fish and chips and he got chicken tenders (with tartar sauce). I ordered a burger with some pink and sweet potato fries, but I got a very dry overcooked burger (the kind that’s hard to choke down) with regular fries. And after waiting for 45 minutes all of our food was ice cold. Our waitress offered to correct the order but we weren’t about to send it back, and wait another 45 minutes. She did bring me sweet potato fries, which were also cold, and brought some hot fries for my husband, although he said they tasted like someone had dumped a salt shaker on them. We heard the waitresses apologize to pretty much every table in the room, and they did their best to maintain a pleasant attitude. But it was a miserable experience in both atmosphere and food, and we definitely will not be going back...
Read moreWe went late in the evening, but I’ll sum up some disappointing things. Burgers are served medium or well done. No other option. No medium rare. It’s medium or well done. Got charged 3$ for sweet potato fries and then when I asked for 1 refill, I was told they had none left and gave me regular steak fries. Why charge me for sweet tater fries then? Wife wanted to try the garlic fries, which are the steak fries with wet minced garlic splattered on them, and they were 3$ up charge too. Even better, they sucked. Had to ask for regular fries for her too cause she didn’t like them. Still got the upcharge for them though. Place was empty minus two other tables and service was still off. Kitchen timing was off, apps came out different times, asked if chip refills for the queso were free and she said she could put it in as they were made fresh to order, never explained anything was extra. Just rack up the bill for mediocre food. Wife asked for smashed avacado on her burger, they put sliced avacado on it. The burger was a mess as they put the cup of cheese on the top bun and hold it there with a knife but neither of us thought it was like that in the pic and that’s why she ordered it. No way to pick the burger up and eat it. It’s a knife and fork thing unless you want a big mess. For the money spent, 75$ for me and the wife, we could have gone to a nice place. Sadly I drove an hour to get here telling our friends how good Red Robin was as they had never been. They weren’t impressed either and their bill was 100 for the two of them. Lesson learned here, don’t waste your time coming to this place unless you have low standards and more money then sense. Smh didn’t go here expecting fine dining, but you’re talking about 4 adults, 2 mixed drinks and two beers, three apps (6 wings, chips and queso and beer cheese pretzel bites) and 3 small entrees consisting of 3 burgers and one order of chicken tenders. 175$ out the door. Not...
Read moreOnce entering Red Robin located at Rutherford Crossing around noonish on May 14th, 2022, the hostess was very unattended and seemed liked she had no clue as to what was going on. Once being seated at our table, there were maybe 4 other tables that were occupied, my husband and I went to the restrooms. Once we were both back at our table we both said how disgusting the restrooms were. Red Robin was opened up for the day for a little over an hour so there's no way the bathrooms could've been that disgusting, it would've seem that they were never cleaned the night before. Our waiter greeted us and asked for our drink order. Their singuture drink is with lemonade, but they are out of lemonade. Strike 2 Red Robin!. Waiter proceed to tell us they were also out of fish and sweet potato fries. By this time husband and I are second guessing our decision to eat here. We decided to order. Husband orders a pizza and I order a burger. Burger was not cooked to order but I was hungry and I was not waiting for a refire. I had more toppings and bread than meat, almost like I had a veggie sandwich, strike 3!. However, the pizza was very good! At this time our waiter was swamped with tables (9) and it seemed he was the only one taking care of the customers. There was someone bringing the food to the tables but he was doing everything else. This is not fair to the customer nor to the employee. You're setting him up for failure Red Robin, strike 4! We asked for another order of fries, a runner brings the fries, waiter noticed that it was a very small order with tiny crispy pieces and asked if I would like another order, but I actually prefer the crispy ones, so that was a plus. Waiter was VERY attentive to our needs even though he was swamped with tables. Christopher you are awesome! Job well done, it did not go unnoticed! Red Robin, you have a GREAT employee, who deserves one heck of a pay raise! Five plus stars to...
