This this is a long overdue review of Riverside lunch north. Sadly, one day, my woman and I went to Riverside and expected the same experience that we’ve been getting at the Riverside lunch in Charlottesville the one that is located on The corner of Hazel and high Street. Unfortunately, we weren’t greeted nor acknowledged And for any person of color, I would assume that the same what happened to you. The servers look at us in our face to help the pre-existing customers that were there then had the audacity to then start helping customers two tables who came in after me and my lady had already sat down. We didn’t even get a drink, not a water cup not a order to put in, so we left our head held high the audacity of this restaurant I’ve been supporting for the past five or so years to treat me as if I did not exist. Absolutely unacceptable for me and honestly for anyone else so again not to bring racing to it, but everyone else who was sitting down, was clearly Caucasian. So for them to then get the orders and bring drinks to the tables of two other tables that entered the building after us I find it highly disrespectful and honestly, it seems as if the culture and tenacity of the establishment/employees is just something that is accepted or allowed. I haven’t been back to the location at hazel and high either. Don’t go here!!!!!! It’s...
Read moreIt's been a while since my last visit but I couldn't shake the fact that I feel like I should share what happened so that way maybe things could be improved.
The food is good, nothing spectacular but decent price for something yummy. What really bothers me though is witnessing a server / staff member removing a full garbage bag from a trash can and then going back to other duties without washing hands. I had just finished my food but felt sick afterwards thinking about if that had been the person bringing me my food after doing that.
Service is lacking but that is kind of to be expected with what kind of restaurant it is. It's basically more of a counter serve place with a lot of extra waitresses etc that actually bring the food to the table when it's ready. But if you need a refill good luck on trying to get it. You can't self-serve so you have to actually find somebody to get it for you. And each time that I've gone there's been a mistake with the food (missing ingredients/not toasted ect) but we couldn't find anybody to bring it to their attention so we just ate it as is.
I wouldn't say that I would never go there again but every time my husband has suggested it my stomach turns thinking about the...
Read moreThis place is overpriced and unfortunately (probably due to manning at these entry level jobs nowadays) the customer service is atrocious. I constantly had to ask for a refill. I had a different server every interaction. The food is unremarkable. And the price is kind of laughable for what you're getting. Just cook at home and save about 75%. I know I'll get roasted because "it's a business" and "they have bills to pay that's why it costs more." You're absolutely right. EXCEPT there's nothing special about this place. No value to attribute to a single diner paying almost $30 for a burger and fries and a drink. Yes you read that correctly. I can go over to 5 Guys and get the same level of service (probably better service because I can at least get my own drink when I'm empty and thirsty and not have to wait) and a equal level of unseasoned grilled burger meat on bread for the same or cheaper. At least the fries...
