Martin's Grill is the PERFECT spot for a casual lunch or dinner with friends, family, or... well anyone! The food is mouthwatering, the service is extremely friendly & attentive, and the menu is pretty diverse for being a burger joint! Everything there is kind of à la carte, so your sandwich is only a few bucks (and you can get WHATEVER you want on it), then you can order a basket of fries (which could feed a small army) for the table to share! We LOVE their appetizers (the Fried Pickles being my personal favorite) and I know that no matter what I order, whether it’s a burger, a chicken sandwich, or wings… that it will without a doubt be DELICIOUS! Before we discovered this place we used to frequent Riverside, but after enjoying Martin’s food & family atmosphere, we will NEVER go ANYWHERE else!! It is quality people & quality grub! :) Tom the owner is extremely genuine & will even add things to the menu that his regulars request (I have never seen ANY other place be so connected with their costumers) and his son & nephew that help run the business are also extremely hardworking & devoted! The decor is quaint and includes scenic photography taken by Tom's own wife & a few nicely positioned flat screen TVs to watch a game or even cartoons for the kids! It’s nice that they have an extensive selection of bottled beer, wine & malt beverages, which can make the experience a social visit with friends or family, rather than just a quick bite (though the food comes out fast enough for it to be a ‘quick bite’ if you were in a hurry) which is quite refreshing. They even have a little ice cream cooler and a couple arcade games for the kiddos, AND to top it off, they give out lollipops up at the counter when you pay (which has saved my daughter from a few potential meltdowns as everyone is trying to get out the door)! It’s great to have a place to go that feels almost like “home” and is such a reasonably priced experience for something so satisfying! If you have NOT gone there, you NEED to check it out the next time you are in the Hollymead area; you too will become a Martin's addict! :) All our friends we have told about it, now go there even more...

I have had the food several times from catered events which was very good and it was a pleasant experience. However, my first time going into the restaurant today. I was very disappointed with the two of the staff. After taking our order the waitress did not check on us for 10 minutes, a different one did she was very nice. My party informed her that we were waiting for hamburgers and only had our french fries. She informed our waitress (I was in an ear shot of the kitchen) and our waitress said she didn't know why and came to our table..we told her the same she went to the grill and guy then he approached our table with a pad and pen and asked what we were having. Again we told him we were waiting for burgers and if they were not ready we didn't want to wait any long. He replied sternly that he had to patties on the grill... Again, we said we didn't want to wait if they were not ready. He replied the same sternly that he had it to patties on the grill. We then said we wanted to leave and we would pay for our drinks and french fries. He told us to leave and not worry about our bill. As we were leaving he and the waitress who first took her order started complaining about us while we were walking through the restaurant to leave. This was a very disappointing experience given all the good that I have heard about the restaurant and...

have been going here for a little while, wouldnt say im a daily customer but we probably dine here a few times a month so we kind of know the regular workers here and what the portions are stuff alike, theres a particular worker here that i wont name but they seem to be working in the wrong industry, the food industry requires at leadt basic knowledge of "people skills", we had ordered a basket of fries and the gentleman brought us what seemed to be a regular fry as we looked at the portion and knowing how much fries we usually eat for a party of 3, and just drops the fries carelessly, and this has happened a couple times already, from the same person, food was decent which is why im not giving 1 star but missed some ingredients on one burger we ordered, and finally when getting ready to pay, takes my card with a bit attitude and tells us see ya later, i would recommend this establishment to re-evaluate what kind of people they are employing and possibly ask for some feedback from people...

It won’t knock your socks off. It’s just “ok”, but it’s definitely better than the chain fast food restaurant options around. The burgers are affordable, and aren’t super large, but they’re filling if you pair it with fries. The cheesesteak was really lacking in flavor (it’s definitely no NYC or Philly), so I wouldn’t recommend it, but the burgers are decent and I would stop by if I were in the area. I didn’t get it this time, but the tater tots are pretty good, especially with the sauce they pair it with. They give a large amount of fries in the “basket,” definitely enough to share with 2+ people. I wouldn’t go out of my way for it, but if you go, I’d recommend a cheeseburger and tater tots. It’s a fill-up that’s easy on the wallet. Atmosphere is classic burger joint - grill, music, iconography, TV, the whole thing. It’s casual dining so you could definitely stay a while if you want to watch the game, or just hang out. There’s also outdoor seating as well.

How do they make the burgers so good?! I didn’t get photos because I was so hungry haha but oh man, this was an excellent meal. We got cheeseburgers and fries and a side of coleslaw, on our way home from hiking in Shenandoah. I stopped here a couple of years ago with my mom and remembered the burger was awesome so I wanted to visit again since we were nearby. It was absolutely packed that day but this time was pretty quiet and calm, which honestly was weird to me for a Sunday and considering how good the food is. I will definitely stop here when I’m in the area from now on. It really hit the spot, especially after hiking for hours! Edit: stopped again today, a week later, haha even more amazing than last time and I got a photo. Seriously good burgers!

Delicious food from Va BBQ! Brisket and onion rings were definitely something to write home about! The Mac and cheese and pulled pork were also very good. We got the platter and enjoyed the Texas candy and other pickles they included on the tray. Staff were friendly and food came out quickly. The outside seating was great but inside could use a lil more cleaning a face lift. Floors were a bit sticky. Sauce wise I’d say I prefer the taste of Mission but they did have six to choose from.
