Armando M the manager has a horrible disposition, a real nasty attitude. He doesn’t seem to have effective communication skills let alone customer service. I’ve been to Salsas many times, from dinner with family to dancing with friends, it’s always been a good time. Today however was not a good time. My family came out to the fall festival and to our surprise saw that they were offering sip and stroll with participating restaurants, Salsas was listed as one. When we inquired about it we got different news. I asked to speak to the manager to confirm considering, there are multiple signs advertising it. The young lady i spoke with pointed out the manager and said he's gunna come to you, he rearranged tables, cleaned several tables, check on a few other people, even made eye contact and walked by me several times as i patiently waited and stared him down. I finally stopped him after realizing he wasn't coming to me. I said "excuse me are you the manager?" He stopped abruptly and looked at me as if i was wasting his time and nodded yes. As a former restaurant manager i understand it gets busy, but when a customer is asking for you specifically, you should always prioritize that. I go on to ask about the advertising and he aggressively responds "i was busy, no we're not doing it, my boss said no" confused about his attitude, i tried to ask about the signage again and he just said "i don't know anything about that". Long story short, if you are gunna advertise your service and then withdraw, you should update the event organizers so they remove your name from the signs. And when it comes to management, customer service training would do wonders for Armando if he wants to be successful in his role.

Atmosphere- We have been here a few times and on the weekends it can certainly get lively and fun. But on most weeknights it’s pretty casual and laidback. It would be great if there were more restaurants in city center which would boost the number of people in and around Salsas but as is the restaurant does a good job of creating a good microclimate. Food. From the many times I have eaten here I have never been disappointed with a meal. The food is typically tasty and the selection of food is rather comprehensive. The burrito I had was particularly good this time because it was smothered in a delicious cheese sauce which I now want everything dipped in. My wife had the taquitos which were a little small for me but she thought was appropriately sized. The dessert was good as always, I had the churros and my wife had the Niño Envuelto (child wrapped in a blanket). Both of which were swiftly whisked off the plate and into my stomach. Service The service was a little lackluster but the food came out quick and hot. Nothing to write home about but good enough to not feel totally forgotten. Overall I think this is a good “staple” Mexican restaurant. Maybe not the restaurant you bring family to when they are coming to visit from out of town but certainly the restaurant you can go to on a weeknight for Mexican or for an after-work dinner social.

Stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday while staying in City Center. Was sat immediately and food came out hot and promptly. Now this is where it goes downhill…. I ordered the Chimichanga dinner, fried, one chicken one beef. When I got my food my order incorrectly had 2 chicken burritos. No big deal, wasn’t even going to bring it to the server’s attention. But I also wanted a little extra queso dip because there was hardly any on my plate. I was told that I had to pay $5 for extra, ok cool. So now you’re going to correct my order. When it was time for our check we asked for a little sour cream to go, the sever brought it and the check. Then came back and said he had updated the check for the sour cream. Now, I understand having to pay for food costs but if you don’t skimp on the portion size , people wouldn’t need to ask for more. The food taste was in line with most Mexican restaurants but the portions were noticeably less than average. Customers don’t want to be nickel and dimed for everything so maybe increase the portion size along with the price so that there aren’t any surprises.

I'm currently still sitting in the retruant, waiting to pay for the past 15 minutes. I ordered three tacos . Chicken and cheese time, they came out either lettuce, and that's okay , I asked they to go back, and they took them back. Next time, they came out with onions after I had specially said, "Just chicken and cheese." I scraped off the onions and looked at all three. I was able to take one taco and put it in the other taco, and it wasn't so bad. So I have currently ate one real taco and have one left. Now it's time for my third taco, and I don't even know it was. I've never seen a taco so poorly made. Taco Bell can put more meat in their taco, and I'm not joking, which is a Disgrace to mexcain food. All in all, it's not bad food, just poorly crafted and no pride in their abltilty to make mexcain food. The waiter had never given their name, nor did they ever come back to ask if food was okay. When they brought me the check, they asked if I was okay bc my face could tell it all instead of how food is. It's very frustrating paying food three tacos and getting one, but when trying new places, you never know what to expect. Recommend the manager of this restaurant just go back to the baiscs and give pride to their employees to do better or even just take pride...
