It was an experience, first i call to make a carry out order i was told it would be 30 minutes before it would be ready ok that's fine I understand you are busy but it was sold as they really didn't want to take the order so i go pick the order up everything packaged in containers and a bag so i didn't open to look i drive 23 minutes back home to pull in my driveway and they call me to tell me i have the wrong order and she proceeds to tell me that i can keep that order but they couldn't remake mine so we have a heated discussion on the phone i ask to speak to manager and he was busy couldn't come to the phone so i driveback 23 minutes to the restaurant take back the food they gave me they still didn't have my food ready so i ask to speak to manager again told again he's busy i said I don't care how busy he is i want to speak to him so then the owner came out i started to tell him the situation he cuts me off and tells me that it was my fault again another heated conversation i told him just refund my money i was done he continued to tell me that it was my fault and told me i was stupid i told him just keep the money because you going to need it more than i will if i could leave a zero star i would btw this is the first review I ever left anyone i work in retail as well and understand mistakes happen but this is not about the mistake this is about how the situation was handled Thanks for taking the time...

Visited Sam's Kitchen for the first time, and it definitely has that old-school diner vibe I love as a New Jersey native. I tried the cheeseburger omelette, which wasn't bad but needed a good amount of salt and pepper (maybe they forgot or left it out on purpose). I also got a side of biscuits with sausage gravy. The biscuit wasn’t anything special—wish it had been flakier—but the sausage gravy was tasty and really helped bring it together.

My partner ordered the breakfast sampler with eggs, bacon, pancakes, and home fries. The sausage had a nice kick to it, and the pancakes were a bit fluffy but a little hard on the outside. The real star of the plate was the home fries, which were perfectly seasoned with peppers and onions—definitely a must-order!

Service was a bit slow, especially since the place wasn’t packed, but overall, it’s a decent spot for breakfast. The prices are really cheap, and it’s conveniently close to where I live, so I’ll definitely be back to try more...

Whomever was seating customers at Sam’s Kitchen this morning definitely knows how to drive away a long time customer. I expected it to be busy on a Saturday morning (as it usually is), so I was prepared to wait a bit for a table, which I have no problem with. However, after waiting almost 10 minutes standing next to the “Please wait to be seated” sign while several customers were rung up, the person working the front end took the party of 3 behind me without even acknowledging that I was there, despite me saying “Excuse me” and waving my hand to get his attention. He returned and again spoke to the party waiting behind me, completely ignoring me yet again. Unfortunate, as I’ve always enjoyed the food and the table servers have always been very good. That said, I’m not going to be ignored multiple times and forced to wait even longer, however good the food may be. Sorry to say that this long time Sam’s breakfast customer won’t be returning...

Was walking around when I found this little area tucked into a corner of a small shopping center. The service was excellent, it appears to be a mom n pop type of place. The atmosphere hard to tell as I went in for breakfast, quiet place. Some artwork for sale on the walls. Few plants for decor, just an average place. The food was pretty good, reminds me of a home cooked meal. Eggs were cooked to my request perfectly, sausage and home fries were great. Coffee was good. The waitresses were well attentive, and seems to be regulars going day to day judging by the warm welcome and familar questions oh wheres so and so. The only thing I could say about the place would be a light make over on the inside, other than that it is an excellent stop for breakfast and looking forwars for lunch or dinner in the future.

I've been wanting to go to Sam's every since I moved to Charlottesville. I see it everyday from work. I've been told it's good. I finally got the chance to go. It did not disappoint. Our server was very attentive. She apologized several times for our wait, but honestly it was just about right for a sit-down restaurant. I don't think it was excessive at all. I've waited longer at Wendy's. The food was top notch. We ordered a Hoo's platter and a gyro. Both were excellent. The burger was cooked just right with plenty of toppings, and the gyro was full of meat. The prices were right, too. I'll definitely be going back. Thanks for a great lunch, Sam's. I'll see you again soon!
