We arrived to eat something today 04/13/2025 at around 3 with the restaurant pretty much empty. After we sat down on the terrace we had to wait a while for our waitress to come to the table. We ordered two beers that arrived warm, almost room temp. We ordered the nachos and asked our waitress, Eva H., if we could have them without cilantro, she said yes but when the nachos arrived the sides of pico de gallo and corn both had cilantro mixed in, so I couldn't eat the nachos. We also ordered the pierogi and although I informed the waitress I'm a vegetarian, she failed to inform us that the pierogi came entirely covered in bacon, so I couldn't eat any of the pierogi either. My boyfriend ordered the bigos stew with crusty bread. They forgot to bring the bread, and since the waitress didn't come to check on us after the food arrived, we had to wait until she came back to the terrace to check on the only other table sitting outside besides us to get her attention, but again she didn't even look our direction or take the chance to check on us, so we had to holler her for her to notice us. Again, she didn't ask how everything was or if we needed more water. When the bread arrived it was a disappointment, it was one small piece of dry, cold plain bread (btw, we threw the bread to the ducks next to our table and they didn't even eat it, that says something), and not "crusty" at all. We asked the server who brought the bread for a couple of boxes for the food but he forgot and after a while an older man came to bring us the boxes. I took the opportunity to ask if he was the manager, he let us know he indeed was one of the managers and I explained the situation. He apologised and very kindly took the nachos and pierogi off the bill. Anyway, the order was all messed up and the service was very disappointing, the food in general was underwhelming and nothing special. My boyfriend said the pierogi were dry and bland, the bigos was just ok, the bread bad, and the nachos ok. The only thing I could eat, which were the Belgian fries were your average frozen fries, and the beers being warm was a huge, huge let down and totally unacceptable from a beer house. As an observation the beer menu should be written in alphabetical order because...
Read moreWe ordered takeout because we were staying the night at the Hyatt Place Innsbrook/Glen Allen just across the parking lot from the restaurant. My husband walked over to pick it up and it was rather late so the place was pretty quiet. I didn't take any photos of the food when it arrived because I was so tired from traveling all day, but it was well presented, prepared and packed to go with the appropriate utensils and condiments. Hubby had the Cuban Sandwich with a side of fries. He said the in-house roasted and shredded or pulled Cuban Pork and sliced ham was extremely flavorful and tender, the roll was a nicely toasted and properly pressed hoagie roll. The sandwich had plenty of meat cheese and pickles and the mustard was rather spicy (which he loves but I almost ordered it myself and that would not have been a happy surprise for me). I ordered the French Dip sandwich, also with a side of fries and the in house roasted sliced beef was well seasoned and very tender, even before dipping it in the au jus which is a real accomplishment in my book. It's my experience that many restaurants who roast their own meat don't always get it right. It's often dry and tough and this was just perfect. The onion roll it was served on was very fresh and buttery and the au jus seemed like it was made by a restaurant style mix which was fine because even higher end establishments we've dined at do the same. It was very tasty and still warm when it arrived. The fries were pretty average and had already cooled down quite a bit, just in the short walk across the parking lot to the hotel, so I don't know how long they had been sitting under a heat lamp before they added them to our orders. But we ordered outside of the "usual" dinner service hours (ordered at 9:45 and picked up and about 10:10 PM after they texted us that it was ready) and we've learned that is very common for late night food orders. This location is...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible! Mid afternoon on a Saturday and not very busy . The menus were falling apart (really) and the table top shows a lot of scratches and wear. The overall feeling of the place is rundown. We were seated and nearly five minutes later our server came to take our drink order. I picked what turned out to be a flat beer and my wife's beer was almost 1/4 head. My wife ordered an appetizer for her meal since she wasn't overly hungry. The menu described the dish as potatoes and sausage with a cheese dipping sauce. It turned out to be chunks of baked potatoes varying from small crumbles to half potatoes reheated in the fryer with paprika on them and nickel sized slices of sausage deep fried until crunchy. She was only able to eat the potatoes. I ordered three Kratow, a Polish sausage sandwich with potatoes. My potatoes were the same as my wife's without the cheese sauce to rescue them. My sandwich was a hoagie sized roll with a split sausage that only covered half of the bun. Seriously, it was half the length of the bun! I tried for several minutes to get any employee to acknowledge me to send it back but wound up carrying my plate up to the bar. I showed the sandwich to the manager and asked her to remove it from my tab. I was willing to pay for our drinks and my wife's meal since she ate the potatoes but not the sandwich. I didn't even take a bite of it so I didn't know if it tasted good or not. To get credit, the manager comped our bill. I told her again that i would pay for the rest just not my meal but she comped all of it. (We tipped our server based on the full bill)
I won't be back to...
